Ferrets are obligate carnivores, and need to eat a high-protein, meat based diet. In fact, many ferrets do well on a premium kitten food, as this is higher in protein and fat than adult cat food. A ferret actually has higher requirements in this than an adult cat.
Feeding chinchilla food would be a disastrous idea for a ferret.

Chinchilla's are members of the order Rodentia, and thus tend to eat mostly plants and smaller insects...and since Ferrets are of the order Carnivora, they might get a bit gassy from eating a higher plant-base food.
Mixing the two shouldn't provide any major problems, as long as the food isn't medicated, but I wouldn't give your ferret a full meal of JUST chinchilla food. The added plant matter would be fine and perhaps good for their digestive tack for a bit, but not as a full unmixed meal.

NO sorry sweetie not a good idea! Ferrets need lots of protein as they are such active creatures they need the right stuff in their food as they burn it off so quickly.
I have two ferrets and they have a dry mix called James welbeloved ferret mix. it costs £5.99 a bag and lasts me 2 weeks with two of my hungry boys. This food has all the right amount of vitamins and protein e.t.c needed for a ferret at any life stage.
Some people say feed cat food but I don't as Again this doesn't have all the stuff a healthy little ferret will need.
I'm not saying never feed cat food as little amount wont hurt but I haven't tried as don't want my boys having funny tummies when they have play time in my bedroom!
I sometimes (once a week) Feed my boys tuna but the one in spring water as this has no salt added to it.
Also they love bananas!
I mix cat dry biscuits to my ferret mix 44p in Tescos as this bulks their food abit and lasts a bit longer! hope I've helped! take care xxx

I wouldn't, even though they probably can. Unless you see a bag labeled "ferret, chinchilla, and weasel food" or whatever, just buy it ferret pellets.

I'm sure they CAN eat it, but they probably SHOULDN'T. Just buy some ferret pellets. It would be cheaper than dealing with a problem in the long run.
