We got a new puppy (7wks old) on Sun.(Shih-Poo) He plays well with his toys, but, when it comes to playing with him AND his toys, he only wants to chew on US. Doesn't hurt or anything, just playful, don't want him to get into the habit though. Have tried, NO! Clapping hands and NO! NO BITE! He doesn't respond to ANYTHING!

My puppies are 8-week old Siberian Huskies. We have bought training pads for them so we can get them potty trained. But the problem is that no matter what we do to get them use it, they ignore it and go on the carpet. Usually they tear it up and then go somewhere not outside. I need help..What should I do?

Our 6 month old female pug has been humping people since she got spayed 2 months ago. She only does it when you have your arm or leg on her chest during play. When told NO she immediately stops, but I am curious as to why she does this after being spayed.

i have had a golden retreiver for 8 years, a lhasa apso for 2 years. the dogs have gotten along and played games a lot. we moved to a new house and bought a maltese that we have had for about 1 year. the golden retreiver plays with the maltese. so does the lhasa apso. but never at the same time. the golden retreiver and lhasa apso stopped playing together about 6 months ago. the lhasa apso will growl at the golden retreiver for no reason sometime and bite our golden too. the lhasa apso will especially growl at the golden retreiver when we call the golden retreivers name. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Please help me get my dad to want to get a horse! My mom is all for getting this one horse. He is a good beginniner owner's horse- he is an easy keeper. He jumps and does everything I want my horse to do. He is $6200. My mom said that we can afford the initial cost of the horse and she is the one who sees and pays all of our bills. We have found a place to keep him- which we can afford- and all I need to do is buy tack, which I was saving up for- I have $1000 in savings. My dad said that he isn't going to spend that much on a horse- although he said that when I got a horse we would get a good one. This horse is perfect. Please help me convince my dad! He is being such a stubborn man! LOL. Thanks to all who help!

In my last post someone suggested Feliway to help stop my cats meowing and I was wondering if anyone has tryed it or knows of anything else I could give him that would help!

I'll put an overview of the problem below for those of you who didn't see my last post!

We adopted him from my husbands family because they could no longer care for him. We've had him for afew weeks now. The cat use to be the quiet one of the group (there were 3 others becides him) But since we got him he meows and meows like crazy! Especially at night! We think he misses his old cat companions. (he is neuterd by the way) If we can't find a way to help him settle down and stop meowing we have to get rid of him :( The apartment owner said if we get just one complaint we can't keep him. Do you think Feliway would help? Please Please Please let me know if you have any ideas or info for me!!

I want a norfolk terrier, and my house is two story, though a little small, so I want a smaller dog. We have a bunny, but I said I would take great care of the dog, but she still wouldn't. I can find space for the dog and all, but how do I convince her?

Well, I am doing a project on the ancient roman circuses. My pet rat is going to play a lion. I am making a gladiator out of rat treats to make the lion eat the gladiator, but I don't know how to hold the pieces together and still have it be safe for my rat to eat?

I want to get a dog, but a few issues have arised while pursuing the purchase.......
1) My boyfriend and I live in a 1 bedroom apartment (so a bigger dog is out of the question)
2) We live in a condo with a home owners association in which NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED so any dog purchase has to be approved by them....
3) I basically work long hours so i would be out at least 12 hrs a day, my boyfriend would be home in about 8 hrs, he says that its not fair for the dog to be alone for 8 hrs at a time.
I used to own a dog before and the dog spent the days alone and was very happy when everyone got home and gave him his fair share of attention...I dont think that if we potty train the dog and give him his fair share of attention and EXERCISE when were home this would be a problem for the little bunddle of joy..I really want a new puppy...another issue is that I read that alot of toy dogs become destructive when you leave them alone for a long time (even though my chihuahua never did that)

My puppy ate half a piece of a chocolate. Will he be fine?!?

I ate a piece of chocolate from an assorted box of chocolate. I left half of it and threw it in the trash since I didn't like it. I walked away and left to the computer room. When I was in the computer room, I heard my puppy make a choking noise. I ran to the kitchen yelling my puppy's name, he was licking his mouth. I searched the trash- HE ATE THE LEFTOVER CHOCOLATE PIECE...
Is he going to be okay?!!

When offered a treat for good behavior (sit for example), my sheltie pup will sit back and put both front paws into my hand and then sniff to find the treat. Is this a sheltie thing? I'm trying to decide if he's just got a weird quirk, or if he's having trouble seeing or smelling food.

we live in a small town with a HORRIBLE water system. some areas of town, the water is better than others, like my house isn't too bad, but the office is horrible. my new tank is going in the office, and i don't want to fill jugs of water and haul them, it would just be easier to get bottles from the store, so, my question is, should i use reverse osmosis water, drinking water, or purified water????? or should i just give them Culligan??? lol

any help would be great, thanks!! and please, no smart a$s answers.........
