Don't give them milk; they are lactose intolerant & it will upset their stomachs & cause diarrhea.
Kittens need kitten food for the 1st year of their lives. They are growing quickly & need proper nourishment for the health of their bones. Kitten food is very high in calories & contains all the vitamins/minerals they need.
Cats shouldn't be fed anything but cat food. They have certain requirements that aren't met by anything else. Not feeding them cat food will result in serious deficiencies causing equally serious health problems.

I kind of agree with your assessment of the incident. Coyotes are creatures of the night. Were the kittens out there after dark? And a predator that large would have eaten them all most likely, not simple killed one and left it for you to find. Is it possible that one of your dogs could have done this? Since it was right on your porch? It wouldn't even have been terribly malicious of a dog if it was sort of "experimenting" with a kitten and hadn't been exposed to them before. A raccoon might kill a small kitten and I don't think that is likely. I'm not sure what they have as prey. Usually if raccoons are around a house it is because people feed them They come around at night too. I honestly can't think of any other predator that would come so close to the house, kill and not consume one small kitten and leave the others. I had not thought of an owl (not a country person here). Maybe Charlotte is right.

If it's 6 weeks old it might still be nursing, besides eating some kitty food by this time....Sure, they can eat regular catfood but kitten food is supposed to be nutritionally better for kittens. Also, I have found that kittens go through a stage where they will eat not only the catfood they're supposed to eat, but will also snack on anything -- not only do they steal meat off your plate, but vegetables too -- and I had one who ate blueberry muffins. I would come home with a blueberry muffin in a bag and when I wasn't looking he'd drag the paper bag into the corner, as if it was prey he'd killed, and devour my blueberry muffin.

They certainly can. Go to www.catinfo.org and read about raw diets for cats. Six weeks is too young to start that and you can make some plans for the future (eight weeks at least).
A nice little meal for a kitten is raw chopped up chicken wing, a small amount of chicken liver and some chicken heart and gizzard. That's completely balanced for the kitten - lean muscle meat and bone for calcium in the wings, Vitamin A in the liver and taurine in the heart and gizzard. If you will give it this meal several times a week your kitty will thrive and have very healthy teeth (chewing on bone is nature's natural toothbrush)
Don't do this before the kitten is 8-10 weeks old.

Just make sure that you give them lots of FRESH water, and kitten food till they are approx 1 year old. You can give both wet and dry food. Also you might want to give something like Cat Sip, which is a milk special for cats. Not too much, and don't give regular milk as it will give them diarrhea.

Yes they can. Never ever give them milk products because it is very bad for they're digestive system and can even poison them. At the pet store there is something called kitten replacement milk and thats perfect for their little tummies. Also, Cottage Cheese is good for their systems. Any food that does not contain seasonings is okay too, good luck!

A good diet for kittens is a good quality dry food (which as all the energy, nutrience ect that kittens need) and add some raw chicken wings to help with keeping teeth clean. Please please please so not give kitten milk all it does is give then runny feces.
Can food is a waste of money as it is 60% water and has carboydrates in it which cats do not need and can't use ( it is waste product as they do not convert it to energy).

do not give your kitten milk it really isn't good for them, they sell a milk product made for cats in the petfood section at walmart if you want to give your kitty milk. Really the best thing to feed your kitty is kitten food, human food isn't very good for them.
