At least a year. But budgies do not like to breed when there is just one pair they like to breed in flocks so if you get another pair there is a high chance of them breeding. Hope this helps.

I've seen 8 months to a year. Since eggs take a lot of energy and nutrition, a good pelleted food with 10% seed and !0 % fruits and veggies with some chopped hard cooked egg with the shell added really ensures healthier birds and offspring. A nest box with nesting material like dried grasses, bits of cotton and embroidery thread available for nest building helps. Have fun and a tweet year.

Males have to be at least 6 months old and femals have to be at least a year old. You can buy a book about budgies in any pet store and I'm positive it will have information on breeding.

normally when they reach maturity (no bars on forehead and white irises) but you should probably wait till they are a year old before breeding, and dont let them breed too often.
