I have heard that a daily spoonful of Tomato juice mixed into the dogs food can solve this. I understand your problem, my "lawn" has been killed by dog pee, but I don't like the idea of messing with my girls internal chemistry just to save a patch of grass. Come the summer I am going to have my back garden paved/gravelled with a small out of the way area where I will train her to do her business.

you can get this stuff from most pet shops and stuff and the are these little rock things that just sit at the bottom of the water bowl. I am pretty sure they are called pet rocks. I don't know where you live but here in Australia they are green. Other wise the teabag in the water bowl really does work and is a less expensive option. Good Luck and i know how you feel.

We gave up on a lawn and put decking down. Our garden doesn't drain well and our three dogs loved running round turning it to mud - plus think of all the time you could spend walking your dog instead of mowing the lawn!

My Lab had this problem. His "pee" is acidic. To change the balance you can buy products, but my vet told me to put a tea bag in his drinking water. I remove it, after it has steeped a bit and believe it or not it worked!
