My 15 week old Chihuahua's nails are really sharp and long and I don't feel that me clipping her nails would be safe for her since I have no knowledge of nail clipping. I'm going to wait until I take her to the vet to get them clipped but for the mean time would it be okay for me to GENTLY file her nails a bit?

I just got a 2 month old mini pinscher. I tried crate training him for about 4 days without luck...He would whine and claw at the cage for more than 20 minutes. What i have been doing is playing with him until he gets tired and falls asleep, then i put him in the crate. That seems to be working but if he is awake he will not go in the crate by himself.
I have had him for a week now, potty training is slowly coming along. I live in an apartment so i have to use the potty pads. I would say half the time he uses the pad and half the time he does not.
Any tips on training this active litty guy will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have 2 cats (female) and am fostering 2 other cats (male) and they don't get along. Both of the boys terrorize one of my other cats. One stalks her and the other physically attacks her. I lock them up but i can't over night or they wake me up at 3 in the morning wanting out. Luckily they don't bother her then. But I have no clue what to do!!!! HELP ASAP!!

I am wondering if there is any real difference between the 2 different tanks of fish. You see the big tank with 12 feeder goldfish for about 1.29, and then there is the single bought goldfish in the smaller tanks. SO are they the same? DO they just separate out some and charge you more for those? What is the difference , if there is any in these two.

I have several large leopard appaloosa horses but I have this one minature horse that is 29" tall......I feed the large horses 30 ounces of oats each daily plus quality hay. The problem with the mini horse is I only feed him about 10 ounces of oats and he gets bloated. Should I switch his feed to just cracked corn or sweet feed? Do mini horses have trouble digesting oats?

My boyfriend and I have 2 1/2 month pitbull named Ava that is VERY hyper! I love having an active puppy and everything but even after walking, and tons of playing she is still hyper and we also would like to know how to train her not to jump up when visitors come in but she's having a hard time learning that one.. She knows her name very well too. And my third question is when is the best time to start puppies on leashes? Because when we walk her outside she just runs along next to us but Im afraid of cars and stuff and would like to know when is the best age for leash training??

1: How to make them tired out
2: Not jumping on guests
3: Leash training

Any help would be VERRRRRY much appreciated.

My brother and I raise bison and have tossed over the idea of making a dog food product out of bison meat. We have a fairly good market for human consumption and are now looking at the pet food business. All our animals are naturally raised and do not recieve any antibiotics, hormones or other drugs. This will ensure that your dog or cat will get a pure meat food source without the extras that come with beef, chicken, pork etc.(those industries pump a lot of drugs into their animals but they don't want you to know that) Anyway I'm trying to feel out the market and see if it would go over or not. Would you buy something like this?

I have recently changed vets and the last time I brought my 2 yr. old female up there the vet assistant didn't know how to tell if she's been spayed or not (I learned that she's new and in training). well, she didn't figure it out and she finally just trusted me that Lily's been spayed. my question is how do you tell that a female cat has been spayed?? oh, and when I was up there the vet was on vacation that day (I just brought her in for her shots). one more thing, when you change vets, are they required to check if the pets have been spayed/neutered? just curious, Thanks!

I have a 3 yr old yorkie and lately every time he eats he throws it all back up. I recently changed his food but i dont think thats the reason because i am adding a transition powder to the food (i was told it helps him adjust). I must also mention that i have a pool and even though i give him fresh water he insists on drinking the water in the pool. Can that be it? Please help me, what can i do?

I currently have a communiy tank - at the moment it has a couple of gouramis. Tetras, pleco and a pair of angel fish. I would like to add a black ghost knife fish - would this be compatable with my current set up (it is a standard 4 Ft fish tank (200 litres))

Want to get a puppy...and thinking that I want to get it before I have a baby. I have 2 cats right now who rule the roost and I want to get a puppy that will not get to be too big (15-20 lbs max) that way it can stay inside some. What dog breeds tend to be better with small children? I know a golden retreiver is really good, but that is a little on the BIG side for right now...THANKS!!!!
