She's territorial, and a protective family member. She sees the two of you as part of her litter, probly, and she wants to protect you from outsiders. It's a perfectly normal animal instinct!
Not so common in cats, as it is dogs, but it's normal. If she becomes to bothersome to company, I sugesst crating her, or putting her in a room, where she can't get out with plenty of toys or other occupations.
If you don't want to lock her up, tell your company that your cat is protective, and they should keep a distance from you and your man. Try keep the cat occupied by something else. Any form of dangling toy, or moving rodent toy, or whatever else might grab her attention.
You can try to get a clicker, and use that as a tool. Make sure she knows that she will get a treat every time she hears it, and when she isn't all over the company, click it, and give her a treat. She'll get the hang of it, and learn that she can't be on the company, or whatever she's doing. Keep her next to you, but don't let her stare at the guests. As that makes her feel dominant, and lets her think she can do it all the time.
You also might want to make sure that she knows that she isn't the boss of the house, which is a common problem among cat owners. If she thinks she's the boss, then your company is invading HER territory. Once again, she's territorial.
If you've tried everything everyone has suggested, then take her to the vet. There may be a deeper issue, then just territorial and protectiveness!

Cats do what cats want to do and that includes liking and disliking people. No disfunction there.

I even have photos of them for the duration of the years. She continuously snuggled and laid her head on Mr. Sam. while he surpassed 10 years in the past, toddler Sparky mourned him and searched the domicile for him each evening for 2 years. She ought to no longer have faith he replaced into somewhat long previous. She appeared everywhere and spoke of as to him. this would possibly not harm the 'adoptive mommy'. If it stricken her, she could use her massive bunny ft to bypass him away. Bless you and her.

Your cat does not have a dysfunction - she just loves you & your man. She might feel like she's protecting you. Cats are very protective of their owners.

Our male cat is that way - just socialize your cat more, have visitors feed her treats if she will tolerate it. I take ours out on a harness and leash in warmer weather so he gets used to noises and people.

That's how most cats are. They are usually very shy and only will be nice to people they know very well.
