What do they eat?

Have you ever noticed that the RNIB dogs are mainly Yellow Labs, and that some dogs for the deaf are Black Labs? You very rarely see the chocolate ones, and I have come to realise why! Ok, they sometimes appear as sniffer/service/detector dogs and the reason I think is - they are the Asbo-hooligans of the lab world.

I have a 16 month old Australian choccy lab, and by god, he's into EVERYTHING, and is on the go for 19 hours a day. (re-charges batteries for the remaining 5) Yeah I know he's just a pup yet, but from everyone that owns/breeds, or previously owned ANY labrador (including consulting with various Veterinarians), the chocolate variety are the 24hr a day boistrous ones.

On the TV programme "Dog Borstal" have you noticed that 99.9% of labradors are the chocolate ones? (Yes, fair do's, most of the problems all dogs develop are "human-caused") but surely, there must be a few grey cells lacking in the skull department of this breed? Hmm! Got me thinking! IQ for dogs?

This has been going on for a few weeks now. She has tried changing the location of the cage, or covering it. Nothing helps. Any advice would be appreciated. We tried once to introduce another parakeet into the cage. That didn't work out.

She is not that large, but she has long hair and is VERY affectionate. Her face is not smushed. She gets along well with my bulldog and my sister's pomeranian. She is extremely calm. When I cuddle with her, she is limp, letting me hold her as I please. When I pull her into my lap, she lays where she falls, always content. Her purr is loud. I've never had a ragdoll cat, but I've heard they are like this? Whatever she is, I'm glad she's now mine!!! :)

She is losing hair and constantly biting herself. It's not fleas...
What else could it be?

I'm really not a dog lover AT ALL! But my boyfriend loves them and can't imagine life without one. We live in a small house, 2 bedroomed terrace. I know these are big dogs and I was quite taken with the idea of having a big fluffy playmate but I'm not sure of their temperments? And realistically, how much space do they need? Do they need to undertake training? Are they good with children and babies, we have a 2 year old daughter. Has anyone ever owned one?

But I'm not getting much sleep cause she wakes up in the middle of the night to eat and after she eats she wants to play. How can I get her used to sleeping alone (should I start now?) with out hearing her cry cause it breaks my heart. Advice would be nice.

I got my kitten when she was very young, and because she was so little, I got her a litter pan for inside, even though I have a cat door and my older cats simply go outside to do their business. When she got older, I started moving the litter pan closer and closer to the cat door, and then finally outside by the cat door and then I finally did away with the pan all together. While the pan was there, she did really well and never had an accident. But now that there is no pan, she's is peeing and pooping all over the house. If I walk her outside in the morning, she goes to the potty fine - but left to her own devices, she simply goes where ever the mood strikes. The whole point of having the cat door is not to have a smelly litter pan. How can I train her to go outside to do her business?

I cant resist it face~ & Peples i know Pitbull is violent, but NOT all of them r cruel. Give the Pitbull a chance~ plz help me pick out them, tell me the reason why you think they are the perfect dog.

I miss my dog so much. She was stolen. Someone just came to our driveway and took her away with them.

How can I get over this? And has this ever happened to anyone?

We just moved and we were told that we had to keep the cat inside for a while or he would run a way b/c his whole life has been at the old house (2 yrs.). How long until we can let him go outside? Will he run a way since we are here? Anyone who knows a lot about cats please help.

I have a BB gun for only one purpose, to shoot stray or mean dogs that come into my yard. I have four young kids and I don't want to put them at risk. I also don't want to hurt the strange dogs, just scare them away. Can a pump action BB gun do any real damage to a dog if the shot is from 10 feet away or more?

I have ample stored hay and a feed called 50/50 which is charf, lucern and grain mixture. He's on his own and there's now no feed in the paddock at all. He's 23 years old and not being ridden at this stage. 15.2 hands and always been a slim built appalossa. He's on the property were I live so I see him everyday of course.
Never had to hand feed him in summer before only in the winter, but with the drought there's just no grass left!! Because of his age I don't want to experiment with feed qty's and have him lose condition.
At the moment I'm giving him a big armload of hay in the morning and three big scoops of feed in the evening but he seems to be losing a litttle weight. This amount of feed in winter seems to be fine.

Any help would be appreciated.
