We just got a new addition to our family a 4month old GSD. He's fine with my daughter in laws 2month old GSD, but he runs if we try to pet him. Outside he'll circle you, and follow you if you walk away. But as soon as you go to pet him he puts his ears back and takes off as fast as possible. Any ideas?

I hate that I have to find a new home for Riley. He has been the "baby" in my home of 3 cats for the 6 yrs. of his life. He is sweet natureted and loves to be with you.(pull up a chair while you cook and he will come watch you :) ) He is neutered. He needs a home where someone is home with him a lot of the day, and he needs to be the only cat in the family. He does best without young children in home.

I am getting a new Maltese pup and would like to come up with a unique name-2 syllable and nothing like snowball, puffball or mop or anything like that. I have had to Maltese in the past and it gets hard to name them. I had a Corky and a Mowgli. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks much!

This lady gave us a cat that was well cared for spayed/nutered etc and has all his shots, He acted normal when my wife held him, but now back at our house he is acting really scary with this growling and hissing, he is so aggressive he won't let us up stairs!. He even came down the stairs to the living room growling at me and jumped on the arm of the couch and attacked my arm!!! He is crazy, sometimes he rubs against your legs, then he starts growling!! what should we do with him? He is NOT timid and is extreamly agressive and appears nuts! HELP!

does everyone believe everything that is said about aggressive breed dogs? i have a pit bull and have had this breed most of my life, even when my daughter was a baby and have never had the first problem. why can't we investigate the owners of the dogs before we start a panic. education is everything.

I have heard that chocolate is bad for dogs. How bad? Should I take my min.schnauzer to the vet for eating a couple of chocolate covered cupcakes?

Which web sites you recommend to learn more about this breed? Any special care overall? We bought a litterbox at the petshop where we bought him, but we are still uncertain on how to teach him to potty train. The litter sand smells bad and everytime he lies on it, he smells awful too and requires a bath. By the way, how often do we have to bath him? He is our third puppy as long as we've been married...we couldn't handle the other two because they were too big for our small house. We would really want to keep this one now, especially since it was a Christmas gift for our daughters who wanted him so badly. He also has an umbelical hernia. I already did research that this is quite normal and does not need surgery. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Just got a cockatiel from the pet shop. When we got it home we noticed that it had a sore on it's chest. Is it just an injury from possibly fighting with the other bird at the shop? Or is it something else? What could it be?

I've never been interested in cats (always a dog person) & never really had the chance to because some of my family members are allergic. I live with my boyfriend (who is also allergic to cats), and we've been talking about getting a pal for our puppy. Cats have been growing on me. I understand that a lot of allergy problems have to do with cat dander.... I was just wondering if there were any types that are better for people with allergies?

This was kinda cool but
some website told me to put on music to calm my pets
well i put on some rock music
the volume was low
but my 2 parakeets started chirping and screeching a lot and that was entertaining.
but then they started flying around wildly
and flapped their wings crazily.
is that a good thing?
are they excited?
They need to be let out of the cage?
or are they mad?

I had a friend who had a 13 yr old boxer mix who was really sick that had cancer and they didn't have money to put her down. Her dad took her out to the woods and shot her. He buried her there and he was really sad that he did it. But i hear people do it because they bite people or they won't stop peeing on the floor.

My dog has been constipated for a while, then today there was a clot of blood in her poo, what are some ways, or home remedies for her. Or I might just call the vet.
