Anole's change color for several reason. The most common reason is thier enviroment and overall well being..
On that note, I am simply going to paste from the link below.
When a green anole turns brown, it is a sign of severe stress. Stressed anoles may turn green at night when their lights are out and they are asleep, but will turn brown again once they wake up and start the new day.

The stress may be environmental (enclosure is too hot or too cold, or there is a cat staring at them most of the time you aren't around, etc.), or it may be psychosocial, something that will happen if you are keeping two or more anoles together in one enclosure.

Here is a great link i recommend with some solid care info

If he still looks otherwise healthy and is still eating that is great- look at the link and evaluate his home- maybe some changes will help.

I had an anole years ago. It went from green to brown and back again, but there didn't seem to be any particular reason for its switch. I personally wouldn't think there is anything wrong with it but if you are concerned about it, it would probably be best to consult at a good pet store, or speak to a vet.

Hope that helps!

Green anoles like to have friends so get a few more (as long as the tank is big enough).
