Both my sons really want to get a hamster. We have had one before and my only concern is about it biting. When my son was in Kindergarten, they had a hamster as a pet in the classroom and it never bit. What kind/type or breed of hamster is the best for children? Thanks in advance!

I heard from my friend that bulldogs are dangerous and can kill you because they aim at your throat. Is that true?

My cat eats science diet, and she has a decent appetite (definately eats her food when she's hungry, and "calls" when her food is near empty).

However, just today I found what looked like poop at first (because the food is brown)-but it is ultimately determined that it's chunks of the science diet.

Please help! thanks.

I have never owned a bird, but I have taken care of zebra finches for awhile. I want a bird that is relatively small and quiet, and can live on its own or in a pair. It would be best if it was $50 or under. I would also have about one hour or less to spend with it on weekdays, and on weekends it would be with me all day. Any suggestions?

my betta was fine for 7 months , and now he is dead. The day before he died , he was eating and he was active. He had a bubble nest. He didn't overeat before he died , and he was a noraml size , before he swelled up. The next day i wanted to feed him , and i found him dead. His stomach was really swollen, and he was dead. I want to find out if he died from dropsy , or from fish tuberculosis.

We are having Really, Really bad problems with one of our shih-tuzs, And We Really need to get something Done About It. She doesn't listen, she acts like a kid, pees off the pad (and just so happens to pee on the couch,? Coincidence, I think not, we do every thing for this dog and still she treats us this way!?), poos off the pad, its only getting worse.

Today we came home to a dirty, messy, pee-pad tore-up house with poo mashed into the carpet, which is absolutely pathetic! Thank goodness we put them in a seprate area where the whole house wouldn't be screwed up, and poo mashed on the couch, along with pee! I hate this dog so bad, with a passion!

What should we do with her? Shelter, sale her or what, she needs to be outside where she belongs, but we have no friends that can take her.

I bought my cat a catnip bean-bag today. I gave it to her, and she seemed to really like it. She played with it for a good 15 minutes or so...when I went to reach down to play with her...I noticed...she peed on the bean bag. Anybody know why she would do that?

Of course we all like to keep our animals healthy and take them to the vet regularly, it's what you do when you love something or someone, you take care of it/them! Though everytime someone asks a question on here and also includes that the animal is healthy and has already been to a vet, people still reply that they should take the animal to a vet! We're not asking the general public for an answer that we already know or have already done, and I highly doubt everyone on here is rich enough to make a daily vet visit.

I need to take my cat to the vet for him to get fixed since i have 2 female cats. I was wondering what they usually do at the visit. What kind of shots will they want to give him (i know rabie shot is required by law), and what else goes on at the appoinment. And how long will it take for the process?

My new puppy will be here tomorrow but my schedule is kind of tight. School starts at 7:40 in the morning. I go to school a half hour away and I can't drive myself home. I stay at this one place until 6:30 pm which is when I get picked up to go home. Nobody else gets home until at least 7:00 pm. I don't know if it is a good choice to leave my new puppy alone for so long during the day. What should I do?
