I talk to my dogs sometimes (not oddly, when I come home I jut greet them and stuff cause I love them). I realize that they don't talk back, but is it at all positive for me to talk to them? Does it help us interact better?

there was a stray cat who basically decided our frontyard was its new home. we did after a while feed it sometimes. & then recently I noticed it was pregnant. then the cat was not to be seen anywhere for about three days. & then we heard the sound of a kitten meowing under the house. and now the cat is back as normal but have not seen the kittens or heard them meowing anymore, what could have happened?

My mother gave me a stray cat the other day .It is a female I took it to the vet got her shots and a check up . I have a dog and small kids around 5 and 6 years old . I know nothing about cats. This is the frist one . I want to give her a chance of a good life .My other dog got killed a week ago by a car :( ,but anyhow she seems scared all the time .She wants me to pet her but when I do she trys to clow me or hissss at me to .How can I try to calm her down .If I cannot tame her I will have to take her to the animal control center . Because I cannot have that going on here. But I donot want to give up on her .She is scared of me and I am kinda scared of her .I know she knows this .Because we both jump at each other and not meaning to . LOL , I beleave every animal should have a chance of life .But what can or should I do or a web site I can go to get infomation about this .

I just got my cartilage pierced about a week ago but the problem is all of a sudden my ear is like swollen, I've been taking care of it putting rubbing alcohol on it and cleaning it but it's stinging, I don't want to take it out but is this normal or is it infected?

I got a kitten a few days ago, I've never had a cat before, the first day everything was fine-she's litter boxed tranined and everything but the problem is she's wicked annoynig I know she's just being playful but she's constanly pawing my legs and jumping on my head. Her tempernt just doesn't seem well..is this normal behavior for a kitten? I've tried spraying her but she seems to like it. I have 3 more days to bring her back but I really would like to keep her- it's just that her temperment isn't so hot.Is it normal?

It just seems like all the animals-strays-wind up here some how. There is even a little jack russell terrier who comes to 'visit' every now and then, and she just runs right into my house. We finally got the owner's address-so we take her back home...I just feel like an animal magnet! I was studying to become a vet assistant at one point in my life, and have always wanted to be a vet since I was young, but not anymore.

i've had him (guppie) since september however he's gotten lighter and lighter and lighter..... he was orange-red- yellow before now he's orange-clear...... whats wrong?

i got told to buy him salt for freshwater or something like that... to help its color...but it hasn't worked?

I took her to the vet today, and the vet told me to prepair for her to pass. I love my cat, and do not want to bury her, I would rather have her creamated and placed in an urn. Any advice on where I can find a nice urn. The vet has those tin-can ones, but those are not very good, they look like cookie tins.

Okay so Misty is a year old and we still can't seem to have gotten her housebroken. I'm at a loss. I really don't know what to do anymore. We take her on walks in the morning and at night, but she doesn't go like the other dogs. We also have a dog door open 24/7, yet she still manages to keep peeing on the floor. Its ruining the wood floor and my mom's done. We tried crating her and she just soiled the crate. Another additional problem is that when we try to scold her for it, she pees more and its hard to praise her because she doesn't like treats.
Help!!!!

Some people will only begrudgingly take their pets in for the vaccinations and others will do anything they can to keep their pet as healthy as can be:) high quality food, annual dentals, bloodwork, urinalysis, monthly heartworm and flea prevention. I'd like to know how most people feel.

I found a PUPPY 4 days ago at a school, under a portable. The vet said he was about 5 to 6 weeks old and that I can feed him any dry puppy food. That didn't work being that the teeth he had wasn't able to chew. He also was going diarreha. So I went to a orphan pet website that showed me how to make a formula with evaporated milk, canola oil, corn syrup and egg yolks. Well that's not working either. He's still going diarreha. What should I feed him. He seems very happy. He does like to play.

I am a law student who lives in a two bedroom apartment by myself. I really want a dog to keep me company, and am really interested in Boxers. I have done alot of research on the breed and understand that they can adapt well to apartment life. My free time during the week will be limited (classes/studying) but I will be able to walk/play with the dog daily. Would a boxer do alright with my lifestyle, and how long before it will be house trained and able to stay home alone??

--Sorry to sound like an idiot but I want to make sure I'm making the right the decision.
