That formula is not good for your puppy. He's too old for it.
You need to call the vet back and say that you are having problems with the food you tried. He may recommend softening a high quality puppy food a little bit by using water.
The diarrhea needs to be addressed sooner, rather than later. It can cause dehydration in the dog. This is very bad.
Remember, puppies often have softer poop - this is not diarrhea. It's simply because they tend to have more fats in their diets.
And don't stand over the dog while she eats. Put her in a crate or in a spare room and let her eat on her own. Coddling her, as tempting as it is, wont necessarily help.
Good luck to you and don't be afraid to call your vet to ask questions. It's what they are there for.

Maybe he has worms or some other type of virus since he was clearly abandoned. Also know that he's going to need some behavioral training that he should be learning from his mother right now. Talk to your vet again. The diarreha could be the result of so many factors.
In the future, I suggest feeding Artemis Puppy Food. It's a wonderful dry kibble (best for their teeth).

if he is having diarrhea it sounds like he might have intestinal parasites. did your vet deworm him????? I would contact your vet and take a sample of stool in to be checked.
As for the puppy not eating, if the puppy is that old he should have NO problem eating dry food. But, try adding a little water to the dry food. STOP the "stuff" you made and feed the dog DRY food!!!!

He's got the runs because of what you're feeding him. Tou need to stop right now - he'll get dangerously dehydrated very quickly. The vet was right - feed him dry puppy food, but because he's so young, you need to moisten it with a little warm water so he can eat it better. Make sure this puppy is drinking plenty of water.

You definitely need to check with the vet again. Since your puppy is not eating and has diarrhea, that's definitely something that the vet needs to check out. You were lucky enough to find your puppy, so make him lucky, too, and make sure everything is fine with him. Take good care of him because he's going to be your best friend!

Your puppy needs to go the vet to checked out ASAP. Find out what is causing the diarrhea. As for the puppy food mix the dry food with water, make it mushy real soft then he will be able to eat it. The pup still needs to go to the vet needs to start his shots, check for worms and such. Good Luck!

Don't risk solving this on your own. It could be harmful to your new puppy. I would call the vet again and let him know the update. That is the best thing you can do for him or her. Congrats with the new baby!
