Absolutely. Animals have that sense about who we are as people. I know that when I lived on a large piece of property, a huge elderly and wounded raccoon took up residence in my house for two weeks during the nights. I treated his wounds, fed him, he made himself at home with my cats and dogs then when he was well he stopped coming over.
Where I live now, the sick animals still show up. My animals don't seem to mind, I treat them if I can, if it is something terrible they go to my vet, they just all show up.
I think they know we have nothing but the best intentions in our hearts towards them and God has given them an ability to trust us.
It is an honor you've been given.
Do great things

It is possible that animals sense that your house is a good place to go. I have the same problem at my house, and at one time I ended up with 25 cats, a racoon, a possum, a skunk, and a dog.
Now I have 6 birds, a guinea pig, and 2 squirrels that try to open my back door to get in. I also get 3 of the neighbors' dogs that come to visit.

Same here.I have 15 cats and 7 dogs, and nearly all of them found their way to my house on their own.I had a little Chihuahua who would come and visit from 6 blocks away.He did this for a few years, and then one day his owners couldn't find him,so we think he got killed or taken by someone.I even find baby birds and other animals all the time.I think God sends them to us.That's our mission in life,to take care of unwanted animals.

try putting your trash in the trash can, brushing your teeth, not laying out raw meat, and bury the body deeper in the yard. ; )
