I read this article today (http://ontariospca.ca/press_releases/200... about a couple in Ontario charged with several accounts of cruelty between 1964 and 2005 - involving over 800 animals. Do you think these people should be banned for life from owning animals?

Canadians - would you be willling to write your MP to request them to re-consider Bill C-50?

I took her to the vet who, after a thorough exam and blood tests, found nothing wrong. The dog refused the prescription dog food (after about a teaspoonful) and the next day ate about 2 teaspoons of baby food. Today - nothing. The dog is drinking small amounts of water and does urinate. She doesn't appear to be losing weight as of yet. Anyone else had this problem and if so, any suggestions?

i have 2 bunnies that were given to me this summer. when i went to pick them up they were put out in the sun with no food or water, they were also shedding and there was poop cake all over the bottom of their cage. i brought them home and let them roam free in our backyard (it's big and fenced in) and had them checked out. their in great health now and are doing just fine. the only problem i have now, which is really gross, is that there is rabbit pellets all over my backyard. does anyone have any idea ow to clean something like this up? it's nasty and i want to take care of it asap so my children can go outside and play in the yard. i've tried to blast them with the water hose, but it didn't help at all. any advice is appreciated.

She was a rescued abused animal and is slightly skittish. My Boys adore her but I have to keep her outside mostly cuz altho she scratches like crazy to come in, she just silently disappears when she needs to dump a mountain on my floor, she gets into trash, steals food and can't hear me when i shout..."GRACIE!!! NO!!" What do I Do? I have no money . None! so a shock collar is out of the question??

I have a spotted python, Cleopatra - she's 4 years old. She has not eaten since August 20th. She has shed twice since then. For a while she was REALLY active, like she was hunting - so I'd give her a live mousie and sh'd just follow it around - not even striking. I consulted a local herpetologist and he said that maybe she was looking for a mate....well I'm not set up for breeding (plus, spotteds are hard to find around here)...so I pushed the temp in her cage up another 5 degrees (87 degrees). That settled her down, but now she still isn't eating. She comes out from under her little tree cave to drink, she shed again last week........I'm worried about her.

I don't want to force feed her if I don't absolutely have to!

Any suggestions? Help?!?!

I have an 8 mth old (neutered) male kitty who has black & white whiskers. every little whisker is white near his face and black where it ends. I have a 2 yr. old (spayed) female who just has plain grey whiskers. so does anybody have or know of a cat who has had multi-colored whiskers? I'm just curious. I've never seen a cat with whiskers like that. they're either all white or grey. it's rather unusual to me. thanks for the answers ahead of time!!

Living in Fear of my five pound dog.

My dog Cjuo who is 3 months old and five pounds seems to be mad at the world. Cujo bite people, the cats, the furniture ANYTHING he can get his mouth on. We have tried yelling at him, time out’s, we have put him in his harness and hung him from the ceiling, he fights with other dogs (no matter how big or small) we have put furan objects in a can and shook it at him when doing something wrong, but all he does is bark at the can.

Please help me with any tips in training my dog. I cant live like this for much longer. Will this behavior ever go away?

As you may know, Lake County, Ohio, resident William Whitlow, 23, was accused earlier this year of breaking into an Eastlake home and torturing seven animals, killing two of them. On November 6, Whitlow reportedly pleaded guilty to three charges, including two counts of cruelty to animals

Whitlow's charges stemmed from a May 30 incident in which he allegedly tossed three 3-week-old kittens against a wall before fatally soaking a fourth kitten with water and placing her in a freezer. Whitlow then evidently stomped on and crushed a fifth kitten and—apparently because she cried out in pain—cut her in half; her tail and one of her legs were tossed in the bed of an 8-year-old resident of the home. The defendant also apparently sprayed mace in the face of the kittens' mother and set a dog's tail on fire.

Should this man be put in jail? I think so.

I know about the temperament and intelligence of the breed, and I find that appealing. However, I don't have a large home. It wouldn't have a yard to run in, and its exercise would have to be from time spent outside on walks and play time. I worry that I would be torturing it with such a set-up, even if I do devote enough time to it. What do you think?

Mine takes the shrimp, hides under the table and growls so loud that it is hard to believe such a loud sound comes out of a little animal. He eats it and comes out for more.

then the show begins again.

My dog vomited twice last night....a redish brown colored vomit with a syrupy texture. His belly looked like it was protruding more than usual. He also has increased thirst and uriniation. His nose is cool and wet and his gums are nice and pink and he has no diarhea. His behavior has not changed , he is still playful and hyper as usual and does not act sick. This morning, his belly is no longer protruding and he has not vomited since last night. He is eating fine but still is very thirsty. Well...I am worried that maybe he was throwing up blood, how do you know if your dog is vomiting blood??? I am thinking maybe he ate something bad but he seems hyper as usual, when he is sick he just sleeps and looks sick but he does not look sick. Should I take him to the vet?

I've had my ball python for about 2 yrs now. When i bought him from Petco., He was the last in the tank and they said that he would snap at the store employees from time to time. In the 2 yrs i've had him, he never once snapped at me or bit me.

Within the past month he has developed a severe attitude problem. After he finished his last shed he began snapping at me whenever i tried to hold him. he still eats fine on his regular schedule but is to the point where even if i walk past the cage or attempt to hold him he is striking at me. Im not sure what to do.

I have him in a 20 gal. tank with a climbing tree, 1/2 log and water dish inside. The temperature and humidity are the same as i have had them for the past 2 yrs. I feed him 2 mice bi-weekly and hold him for about 30 min a day. It's been about a month since i have held him and im worried that he will continue to be aggressive and that i will not be able to hold him at all. Any help is greatly appreciated
