My female cat keeps marking her space on my sofa but really no where else in the house. I am getting her fixed soon but for the time being is there anything I can use household wise to get the smell out?

Nature's Miracle is the best that I found. The trick is saturating the materials with the solution. Take care not to rust any metal parts. Nature's Miracle has an orange scented solution that also works well. Is your sofa leather or cloth? You can also have the stuffing replaced in some sofas. It may be the best solution in the long run. Take a black light at night and see just how much urine you are dealing with. Good luck!

Use some Fabreze on the sofa, but only if it's material, not leather of any kind. Don't allow the cat on that specific area, period. If you can have it professionally cleaned, they have this urine stuff that eliminates the stain and odors your cat leaves behind. Get the animal fixed for good and it will minimize the spraying on the animal. It's best to have it done before they turn 6 mths old. Good luck.

She's a female? Only male cats spray. I had my female cat for about a month before she was spayed, and she never sprayed anything, not that she could since girls can't. It might just be a pet smell you're not used to. Go to the pet store and see what they have to get rid of cat smells, just please don't get any of the laundry sprays. You can get that kind at Target or Wal-Mart, places like that, and those places aren't for pets. Any of those sprays are terrible for cats, and you should get one that is especially made for them by a pet company.

Our clinic uses and recommends Anti Icky Poo. No joke! It has a funny name but does the trick. See the website below for ordering info if you have trouble finding it.

Also, when you take your girl in for her spay, mention the spraying to the doctor. Getting her spayed may or may not stop the behavior. If it doesn't, your vet should be able to help with other behavior modification solutions.
