As a general rule the larger the breed the shorter the life span. I had a Pek that lived to 22 yr.s old and I had a couple of Danes that died at 7.
Right now I have two dogs both are 12 or 13 years old. One is a Chow X and the other a Lab X. I have had two dobermans that died at 10.
Of course there are exceptions to the rule but each breed has an average life span expectancie.

With proper care a dog can live 18-20 years. Most every dog, regardless of size, we have had has lived 15 years easy. Sampson is a Pekingese and turned 19 this summer. Gus and Skippy are 15 and still moving around well. They a Rottweiler mix.

It really does depend on the breed. That being said, I had a SIberian Husky live to be 15 and that was beyond his life expectancy for such a large dog. I also had a mutt that lived to 19. I also think a loving enviornment extends the life of any breed to beyond expectations.

I think average age is 12-15 years but they can live to be like 16-18 years old.

Depends on the health exercise and wellness of his living space. It has very little to do with breed. He can live to be 20 if well taken care of but if not then he shal die early

Some chihuahuas live to be in their 20's. I know of one that died at 27.

every breed has a different life expectancy. check out www.dogbreedinfo.com if you are inquiring to the life expectancy of a certain breed.... i know a dog who is almost 20yrs old... pretty crazy. it just varies.
