I have an 8 mth old (neutered) male kitty who has black & white whiskers. every little whisker is white near his face and black where it ends. I have a 2 yr. old (spayed) female who just has plain grey whiskers. so does anybody have or know of a cat who has had multi-colored whiskers? I'm just curious. I've never seen a cat with whiskers like that. they're either all white or grey. it's rather unusual to me. thanks for the answers ahead of time!!

Ginza: sure! dogs count!! Thanks! I've never seen it on dogs either I don't think. my dog used to have all white whiskers but since he's getting old they've changed to grey.

My cat is a brown tiger and his whiskers are variegated like you describe. Also, he has one that's pure black (very short) and one that's pure white (again, very short). It's very adorable!

If the cat's face is different colors then the whiskers will be the color of the fur in that area. my cat is black and white and one side of his face is black so he has black whiskers and the other side is white so he has white whiskers. Whiskers are just like hair but longer and coming out of a sensitive part of their face so they can sense things with them.

One of my cats, Orpheas, male, 4-year-old, is blond, all his whiskers are white except for one, which is black! And when this specific whisker falls, the new one is still black. I noticed that since he was a kitten and I find it strange!!
