As you may know, Lake County, Ohio, resident William Whitlow, 23, was accused earlier this year of breaking into an Eastlake home and torturing seven animals, killing two of them. On November 6, Whitlow reportedly pleaded guilty to three charges, including two counts of cruelty to animals
Whitlow's charges stemmed from a May 30 incident in which he allegedly tossed three 3-week-old kittens against a wall before fatally soaking a fourth kitten with water and placing her in a freezer. Whitlow then evidently stomped on and crushed a fifth kitten and—apparently because she cried out in pain—cut her in half; her tail and one of her legs were tossed in the bed of an 8-year-old resident of the home. The defendant also apparently sprayed mace in the face of the kittens' mother and set a dog's tail on fire.
Should this man be put in jail? I think so.

Imagine if these animals were human just for a second. This man would no doubt get the death penalty! What a cruel and sick person he is. Animals do feel pain just as humans do. Imagine being slammed into a wall or crushed because you cried out in pain when someone hurt you. Or worse, frozen to death. Imagine having mace sprayed on you just for protecting your children or being caught on fire? Should this man get a slap on the hand because these weren't humans he did it to? My cats are human to me and I love each and everyone of them as if they were children. If someone were to even think about doing this to my cats, I'd kill them for sure. My deepest sympathy to the family of these poor animals. I say a life is a life and he should be treated as if he had killed a human being. Just because animals can't talk doesn't mean they don't hurt. Just because they can't call 911 doesn't mean they should be allowed to be mistreated. If this guy is let loose on society, next time it may be someones children. But then again, locking him up isn't the answer. He needs to be in a mental hospital first so that he can receive the help he so desperately needs. It has been proven that many serial murderers start with someones pet.

Give me 5 minutes with him. By the way, the great State of Ohio is one of the WORST states for animal rights. For example, the town of Akron (no small town) voted, yes voted, to allow anyone at anytime to kill a cat anywhere, regardless if it had a collar and tags, was a known pet, or was just sitting minding its own business. Could I possibly make this stuff up?
This guy will probably just get a fine. But if you thought this case was sad and disgusting, what about the millions of similar cases that happen every year? See the link below if you think I'm exaggerating.

Yes, in my opinion he should be. But its not really up to us, is it? It all depends on what the animal cruelty laws are in that state, if there are any. Some states do and some states don't. If this guy is capable to doing those horrible things to animals it is only a matter of time before he starts doing it to humans. Hopefully he will be put away before that happens. Sounds like he already got caught.

It is a terrible way to behave, but I dont feel that animals have the depth of rights that humans enjoy.
I would never vote to send someone to prison for killing a cat or a dog.
This is truly nuttiness
