Ok...I have had cockatiels in the past, work at a pet store for 2 years, and I also have a Sun Conure. I must say I have never even heard of a bird actin as crazy as my cockatiel is.
About 3 weeks ago I adopted a cockatiel from my work. She was previously owned. She seems to be alright with being held...it takes her a few to say "this is ok"
Since bringin her home she has laid a total of 4 eggs. The first 2 were about a week ago and they were cracked and she payed no attention, so I threw them away. About 3 days ago she layed one and it didn't crack, but she has been acting like she is on crack!!!!! She is SO overly protective of the egg!!! She barely eats, eating like only twice a day from what I see. Mainly when I am near the cage - like she knows she doesn't have to worry about the egg while she eats with me their.
Today I noticed a second egg that she is protecting. Its kinda cute and all how she is being motherly to these eggs, but their is NO MALE!!!
I have heard, learned, and experienced that they only protect and care for the egg when it is possibly fertilized and they can even tell this. Why is she wiggin out on these eggs?? Is she longing to be a mommy?? Do I need to find her a honey?? I haven't thrown the eggs away - Do I need to, or just let her play mom for a while??
Thanks

We learned that when he has something in his mouth, not to try and take it from him, but to either force him to drop it, or wait until he leaves it alone. Today, he went into the garbage and took out a napkin and had it in his mouth. I tried to take the napkin from him, and he turned around and bit me pretty hard. There was blood.

My dog has been biting and scratching more often than usual. Now I'm starting to notice random patches where there is no fur but there are little red bumps. Does this sound like, hives or ring worm..... or perhaps just plain flees.

Should I take him to the vet ... or just buy some lotion or wash?

Please advise.

4 pitbulls killed a 1 year old boy on Monday night in his own home. A single father went outside for less than 5 minutes just after he laid his son down in bed to sleep, he came back in and son was dead in kitchen with 4 pits still devouring him. I'm getting really sick of the saying, "It's bad owners not bad breeds". This is true to an extent, but this breed has a inherent gene that can cause it to snap at any time, no matter how abused or well-trained the dog is or was. I tend to see people who own pits or rots and realize most are not even fit to have children let alone own a breed of dog that can kill when their instinct to do so kicks in, and the sad part is most people who own a pitbull have children, idiots. Denver and Toronto are the only cities I know who has banned this breed, I hope this trend continues to every state and territory in North America. Owner need to be held responsible for their dog's actions, but with this breed the only answer is a total ban.

I have a horse which is overweight, and i know he is, hes a gelding cob, 11yrs old. since i got back to school im only back when its dark so i can only ride him at weekends and even only for a short while because of the miserable weather! he was fat when i got him in jan but i managed to get most of the weight off through excercise alone, now i feel that i really need to give him a proper diet to help him loose the weight, i have a rota where i let him out in the field for excercise for one day and keep him in then for 2 days, i only put him out because he needs to stretch his legs somehow, i hate to see him cramped in a stable all week, there isnt much grass in the field as it was grazed on all summer so that couldnt cause much more weight to be put on..could it?! i really need help i hate seing him fat, i want to do all i can to help him loose the weight, please help!!

He's a short hair tabby cat, so it's not the hair that's the issue. I was thinking maybe because he's so fat he's having a hard time getting down there, but he's always been rather fat. It's getting unbearable and I'm feeling bad having to push him away when he wants to be pet because he smells so bad...

Has anyone else noticed that the only people who ever give negative responses to questions about owning rats such as yuck, they're filthy, they smell bad, the're gross, ect. are the ones who have never owned them? Isn't that unfair? Come on, if you don't like rats that's fine but it doesn't mean that you have to be so narrow-minded.

He is 7 months old and he pees like a female would...you know..he still squads down. My friend has a male dog and hers is 2 years old and still squads down and she said her vet told her that male dogs will do that until they mate. Is that necesarily true?

a beautiful white fully-grown owl perches outside our bathroom and kitchen window (in the chowk) and for the last few weeks it has been persistently hissing or wheezing throughout the day and night. Is it in pain or is it lost...?

It would be so much easier to find the questions that I could be of service to answer if there was a link for "Small Animals" (I.E. Ferrets, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Sugar Gliders, and Chinchillas) "Exotics (i.e Foxes, wolves, birds of prey, larger reptiles etc...) and Pocket Pets (I.E. Hamsters, Gerbils, Mice, and Rats)

Does anyone else agree?

i have a new cat from today and she is the whole day "mau-mau" (talking) because she is sad for her old home. She is 2 months old.

I need a tip so i can teach her to make toilet in the cat toilet, because she made it in her bed. Before in her old home she made toilet in sand. I buyed a spetial sand (i even dont know if its a sand) for cat toilet and put it in the bathroom/toilet. Any advice will be helpfull!

And also one more thing can i make myself a toy for my cat and witch will be the best one. And also is it the best thing for the cat a wood for her nails? And how can i make her make her nails at the wood?

Thank you very much and sorry for my bad english! :)

My cat, John, is 7 years old. He's part Simese and part Russan Black and has had Entropian and Cristals. Now he's got blood in his crap and is getting grumpy. He never used to bite, but now he does. He's also acting really odd. He's being very lovable, which he never used to be, and he's got this thing for licking and nipping my dad's hairy legs. He's also acting more and more like he did as a kitten. Jumping around and crying a lot. And he's saying his little word "mama" all of the time, now. I don't get it!!!! He's normaly very quiet and reserved and never bites. Maybe it has to do with the other 2 cats we rescured when he was 3 or 4? Can ya help me?
