We have 2 dogs in our family. A Golden Lab, 3 yrs, and a Shepherd/Lab Mix, 1 yr. My shepherd all of a sudden has started nibbling on the other dog's ears. It get to the point where she snaps at her (they're both females and both fixed). Is this normal?

I really like hippos, but I don't have room for a full-size one.

The new puppy is a soft coat Wheaten Terrier. She has a lot of energy and my Scottie has not been patient at all. When I tried to separate them today during a fight, the puppy bit me on the arm (no broken skin). I'm just trying to nip this in the bud

We just adopted a 9 months old lab mix from a rescue group. She has been in foster care for a few weeks and was "house trained" there. She has been in our house 3 days and is doing well in all respects except pooping in the house. She has pooped on the floor (in the same spot) every time she has had to go. We take her outside whenever she indicates and she has not urinated in the house. She just did it now after a long walk. I tell her no and then clean it up (with her in a different room). Any ideas?? (I am really against crate training).

I have four cats and we went around with this thing last year. The vet said at first it was mites but none of my other cats had it.The liquid he gave me did nothing. Then he said it was a yeast infection. He gave me antibiotic ear drops.I always thought antibiotics cause yeast infections? Anyway, that didn't work either.
Now that same cat only has some goo in his ear. I cleaned it out with a Q tip dipped in peroxide. Some black dots and some yellow murkey stuff came out.
Anyone have any suggestions ?

The ones that are typically bothersome...my cat is sneezing can I give it some of my medicine? My cat has diarrhea what do I do? They rarely qualify that a vet is an option--lack of money and obviously they are looking for a freebie fix here rather than trusting an educated licensed animal doctor. Am I not alone?

Several of my neighbors have feeders so the birds aren't looking at mine. I have 4 feeders up, one with thistle, a suet feeder, a platform feeder and a tube feeder. I also have a birdbath out for them but its been a week and I haven't had any takers.

I am in the process of adopting a retired racer and will probably be getting him sometime in the next couple of weeks. I own "Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies" and have also done a lot of additional reading online...

...however, nothing beats personal experience! So, if you currently own or have owned a retired racing hound (or even just a sighthound of any type), what is the one thing you wish you had known before they arrived in your home?

Thanks!

I have a 14-year-old German shepherd mix and she is beginning to have problems with her back legs. She isn't overweight and other than her legs is in good health. Since September l3, I have been giving her Glucosamine and Chondroitin that I got at the pet store, but she seems the same. Does anyone have any suggestions?

She is a 2 year old boxer. I don't think its allergies because she only sneezes when she sees my daugther and other times that she is excited like when my husband comes home from work. What is this?
