I have a toy chihuahua. She get so excited all the time that she start weazing hard. Its this normal or can you really give herself asthma?

My chihuahua does that too when she gets excited or just a spur of the moment thing. I think my Chihauhua's is Asthma. Asthma (I hear) is very common in Chihuahuas. But it could be backward sneezing or some medical condition like that. When she goes in for her next vet appointment ask her vet. I don't think she can give herself asthma. Do you smoke? Just talk to your vet and he will give you the correct answers. It does not sound like anything serious, but you never know.

First Toy Chihuahuas are just a myth. They just have stunted growth or didn't develop correctly. Anyway now dogs cannot give themselves asthma. It might be a reverse sneeze or tracheal colpase. Hopefully a reverse sneeze. But no they cannot.

Maybe she has allergies. You don't smoke around her do you? That can cause asthma in dogs just like it does humans. They are so low to the ground any air freshners and whatnot affect their noses more so then ours. Dogs don't give themselves asthma, but getting excited can bring the symptoms on, along with hot weather and stressful situations.

What is a "toy" Chihuahua???? They are ALL toys. They are in the TOY group.
They cannot give themselves asthma. Go to the vet and see about a collapsing Trachea.
