pit bull vs. wolf http://www.wolfsa.org.za/content_behaviour.htm says that the wolf has twice the biting power of a dog. ticketoride (http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts113697.aspx)says that pound for pound a pit bull is tougher than a wolf, but says the wolf would win. While the wolf has a better biting power, the pit bull is bred to fight and would probably launch into an attack, wounding the wolf before the wolf had time to react. Unless the wolf were habituated to dogs or humans, it would tend to retreat. If escape were impossible, a wolf would fight back and could hold its own against a pit bull. I just feel that the initial ferocious attacks of a pit bull would wound the wolf sufficiently that it would have little energy to fight back, especially if it had open wounds, which the pit bull could exploit.

The Pit would win as long at it was large enough and game. If it were too small to survive the initial onslaught then Gameness wouldn't matter but that's what most people don't understand. The Pit would win because of Gameness. He won't stop no matter how tired or hurt he is. The Pit would grab a hold and rip at it not letting go only to get a better grip, and Pits are going to go for the Neck/Head area or Stomach. The wolf is a magnificent animal in its own right but but coming to face a Game Pit Bull is not going to happen. These fights are terrible to see though so don't anyone start to think its cool or anything to do one. The only chance I see this fight happening is if a Wolf came across a Pit's family area and especially if it was protecting children, you would even experience a whole new level of aggression .

The logical explanation would be a wolf. Grey wolves (the common kind) are very large, brutal animals. They have sharper teeth, bigger muscles, longer snouts, longer legs, and are just plain smarter than your average pit bull. So, the logical answer would be wolf. But... A smaller, weaker wolf could possibly lose to a giant, muscular pit bull that has been trained to fight dogs. Unfortunately there are many of these... Hope this helps.

A wolf for sure, little punk pitbulls would be lunch to a wolf, but they would only fight if they feel threatened not because some dumbass decided that was the purpose of that animals life. I love dogs, but think all pits should be banned except the best of the best out of the breed and you should have to register your name and the DNA of the dog. All should be spayed or nuetered except people who are proven to not be animal hoarding morons.

I'm going to say a Pit Bull by a small margin, simply because Wolves are more adapted towards pack hunting and fighting. Pit Bulls are far mor agressive and their bite is one of the strongest if not the strongest. Once they lock on, that's it. I've heard of cases where a large dog was able to fend of a wolf.

Assuming that the fight is 1 on 1 and not in the wild (because wolves travel in packs) my money is on the Pit. Ive owned several, and even as nice and docile as the vast majority of them are, they are very powerful and have very high tollerances for pain. They also are very rarely known to back down from another animal. Look at it this way, they were bread to control and intimidate Bulls!!

Pit Bulls, they are bred for fighting. They have larger Jaw muscles and loose skin in their favor. Wolves, while formidable, aren't bred to fight, they hunt. Those are 2 completley different skills. However, if it was one pit bull against a pack of wolves (Who know how to hunt and fight as a team) I would go with the Wolves.

why would it matter. But then again I think that I would say wolf because they live in the wild and they know how to survive against ever type of animal
