We just lost our dalmatian of 11 years and we are considering a new dog for our house, but we need a breed that is tolerant of cats. Can anyone suggest a good breed?

I've always thought that the Humane Society frowns down upon putting animals to sleep. I just say on the news that 90% of the animals are euthenized due to lack of space at the shelters.

Are there any other types of organizations to take unwanted animals to that do NOT euthenize?

1) (my cats aren't lap cats when im on the couch) but when I sit down on the toliet they'll follow me into the bathroom and the first one to get there jumps in my lap!

2) when i change the little box they follow me and have to watch and walk in the box while i try to change it. they also have to use it as soon as i'm done changing the litter. (they act like it's the first time i gave them a litter box!?

3)when i cange the sheets on the bed they have to jump on the bed and get under the sheets and comferter.

how else do ur cats get in ur way? (i say get in the way, but it's sooooo cute)

Ok. I have a pregnant standard Dachshund who is having puppies for her first time. She is close to giving birth to her babies, and I want to be extremely prepared just incase something serious goes wrong. Could someone tell me what they think I need. It would help very much.

Thanks

Hi I am thinking of getting a cat and am looking at my local shelter. I did own cats growing up, but my parents took care of the vet visits. If you do get a cat from the shelter what shots have they gotten? I know they have their rabies and have been spayed/neutered, and have been tested for a few things. After you adopt do they still need to go to the vet for additonal shots? How often do you take a cat to the vet? Every year like a dog? Do cats need monthly heartworm pills like a dog does? I am going to do some research and call a few vets, but any help or experiences would really help thanks.

I was eating Cheetos and feeding them to my stray cat friend in the backyard one day. I was feeding him every day so I decided to name him. He's orange and loves Cheetos so I decided that's his name. Cheeto.
I eventually took him into my home and he has become king of the castle ever since. lol

If you have a reptile you can not care for anymore or you just do not want. Email me I will gladly give it a good home and proper care. There is alot of people that get these animals for pets not knowing what great responceibilitys come with them.I just want to try and help.So instead of killing the animal or releaseing into wild,(Releasing a captive reptile in wild can cause big probs for the reptiles)let me give it a good home.

I removed a tick with tweezers, tried my best to get it all out but to my amazement it was so strongly attached that I thought I was going to hurt my kitty, so the head remained stuck in the skin. I applied antibiotic ointment to the area, should I avoid touching the area, can I get lyme?

I was wondering why do people enjoyed hunting big game animals such as elephants, lions, cheetah, wolves, rhinos, hippos, leopards any African animals including those that are endanger. Are people just killing them because it for fun? Hunting animals for food is fine. But I notice big game magazine in store, it break my heart to see elephants, leopards, lions etc to be killed for hunting especially those beautiful wild cats. I thought we were suppose to be saving wild animals.
