It's in a cat's nature to be scared of water. they aren't exactly good swimmers. But some cats can learn to like water if they are exposed at intervals and WARM temps, NOT COLD. (Remember, a cat's core body temp is about 102 degrees so warm to us is colder to them) But chances are, unless this was done as a kitten, nothing will change his mind. It's just natural. :)

when she is younge.. My cat does the same thing... he loves to drink out of the toilet and jump in the bathtub but hates when you try to give him a bath... But if u go about it the right way im sure she will be fine.. also i read on the net that if u spray your cat with a water bottle to get them to stop doing stuff you don't want them to it can make them scared of water.

I know what you mean. My 2 cats will have a full bowl of fresh water, and still lick the faucet and jump in the tub (empty). Turn the water on and they freak! They just don't like to get wet, but love to drink fresh cold water out of the tap.

You really should give your cat a water bowl! Do you know how many germs are in a toilet, even a clean one!

I had a cat that got over his fear of water by himself. When he was a kitten he would scratch us to death when we tried to bathe him. A couple years later, he would passively allow himself to be bathed and even joined us while we were bathing! My girlfriend and I were mystified!

aww that's so cute! hmmm....my sisters cat has bad dandruff and she used to freak out when we would bathe her. now she just stands there until we're done. be prepared to get scratches and bites, lol. i think cats instictively hate water. talk to your vet if you're still wary about it.
