She has very long hair and her belly and chin have gone all greasy from eating tuna in oil (she also smells !)- damn cat rolled in it. Last time I washed her it took 3hours to gat her dry! I tried a hair drier on a low setting (which she didnt mind) but it still took ages! I used a veterinary shampoo made for cats but its not up to the job- didn't do anything last time. she keeps coming over for cuddles but I cant bear to touch her as she stinks! HELP!

I’m feeding my Filly 4 squares off of a square bail of hay and a 2lb coffee can full of grain a day. (is this enough grain and hay?) If I put all of her daily hay in a hay sack in the morning she is ready for more when I go out in the evening to feed her. She is not wasting it. Will she over eat? I don’t want to make her sick.
I don’t have much experience with colts, my husband does and he is out of town for 2 weeks.

I have been searching the local Melbourne (AUS) Trading Post for purebred Labrador Puppies and I finally found some that I like.

The only problem is that the description says that only the MOTHER is available for showing. Should I be worried about this because the pups only cost $350 each?

*** I am NOT bargain hunting for my puppy so I am not interested in them because they are cheap - I am actually concerned because of their price.

Just wondering because their parents do not have papers or anything and because the father is not on show, the pups could have any kind of hereditary diseases.

Yesterday I gave a parrot a home because its current owner had a young baby and could no longer spend the time she used to with the parrot. The bird had been plucking its feathers and the vet says there is nothing physically wrong - it is heathly.

We brought the poor bald bird home and set up its cage in the conservatory so it can see outside and it appears to be contented.

I am looking for advise on a couple of things (I have had cockatiels and budges so have plenty of experience of looking after birds).

How do I stop him pulling out his feathers - I've never come across this before.

And he has been a free flyer up until now, however he poo's everywhere. Is it okay to let him out for a while then put him back in his cage?

We have two cats, one 8 yrs and one 9 yrs old. We are planning on moving abroad, to Italy, at some point in the future (probably 4 or 5 years). We are concerned about what to do with our cats. Do we put them through the stress of such a long move (presumably by air)? Would they be sedated by a vet? Or do we leave them with someone, probably until they die?

I have tried to punish my little terror again and again-he bites and scratches, loves to chew wires in two, also loves to shred toilet paper, etc., etc. I live very close to both a busy road and interstate, so keeping him outside would be too risky (though he tends to sneak out the door anyway). We had him neutered and I was told that would slow him down, but that hasn't happened. Any advice on how to prevent him from misbehaving would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop them from urinating on furniture. We have 3 boxes set up in the basement, and they always have access to them. Sometimes we stick them in the basement, but they still use the furniture and places where they shouldn't go. We have the spray and sometimes that works. I just got new couches, and I still have the plastic and wrapping on them for the fear that they will pee on it. I would appreciate any help

Also say if you wouldn't chose a dog. If so, you can say what animals you like.

I need some help.. I have purchased a juvenile flowerhorn and have kept it in my new 200 litre tank, planted. For 2 days the fish was ok, and then it started rubbing itself in the gravel, increasing the frequency. I supposed it was fluke so gave the water some fluke treatment.

Since yesterday, the fish has stopped rubbing itself on the gravel, but has settled on the bottom of the tank, still upright, but with very less movement. It is still eating allright. I changed (increased) the water temperature to 29 degrees..no more medication until I really get some advise from specialists..

i read a article on one of the animal sites that said we should stop the slaughter of animals by buying special vegetarian dog food and cat food and we all should be vegetarians. i am 100% for animal rights. but that's just not healthy for dogs or cats. god made them to be meat eaters for a reason. what do you think would happen if we all animals included were forced to become vegetarians? i dont think the out come would be good at all how many pros and cons can you come up with?

Hi. I live in India and have recently kept a guinea pig. I am concerned about his diet. He loves to eat capsicum, apple(leaves the skin) cabbage, cauliflower, coriander, wheat grass. Now my questions are

1. what is timothy hay called in india? I read that it forms staple diet for guinea pigs.

2. how many times should i feed him? or should there be food in the cage at all times?
3. I was told that oranges are liked by them and supply all the needed vit C. but mine doesnt like oranges??
4. Pellets arent available here. so what should be the meal plan followed by me?

He absolutely loves wheat grass. and i have planted it in a few pots but they cant be enough for him....what do i do?? the shop owner very conveniently told me that cabbage is enough but i obviously have my doubts....
