i read a article on one of the animal sites that said we should stop the slaughter of animals by buying special vegetarian dog food and cat food and we all should be vegetarians. i am 100% for animal rights. but that's just not healthy for dogs or cats. god made them to be meat eaters for a reason. what do you think would happen if we all animals included were forced to become vegetarians? i dont think the out come would be good at all how many pros and cons can you come up with?

Well, have to agree, most are carnivores, and so are we. Try telling that to my one cat, he has a fetish for roses (they have to be full size),he goes gaga for the petals and broccoli. The other one hates anything that does not have meat, and loves scrambled eggs. But I must stress that these are treats, not part of their regular diet. Plus, if we eliminated all meats from our diets, how badly do you think this would effect our finances as a nation? What do you do with all the farms, the animals, yet alone the developments they are making with "green" fuels, one farm is dedicated to making an earth friendly farm. Cattle is fed on the corn grown, manure is mixed with other ingredients made from the left over corn and the waste product from the corn and excess manure is mixed with the husks, stripped cobs and dead stalks for fertilizer. HMMMMMMM, guess if people would look at the MACRO-scope an issue like this brings up, they would be less inclined to push what they feel is right on others.

I don't know anything about cat or dog physiology, or what god has to do with that, but I do know that I have strict vegan friends who only feed their (large) dog veggies and rice, olive oil, quinoa, etc. (no animal products), and their dogs are healthy and normal weight, etc.
I had a friend in highschool whose dog could ONLY eat veggies, under the vet's orders, and he was great.
But maybe they prefer meat. Ask them.

These animals are carnivores. You just cannot give them veggies, it doesnt agree with their stomachs. If a person deicides to not eat meat for themselves that fine. You cannot deicide for a carnivorous animal not to eat meat.
