Somebody in Kentucky PLEASE go get this little guy and give him a good home. I live in another state and can't. There are thousands of kitties in shelters who need good homes. This little guy just happened to show up on my search. Look at that spirit! He's just precious!

I have a 125 gallon tank that I want to make partial land and water habitat for my red eared sliders. What would I use as a land substrate for them because I was told not to use sand because they will eat it. How deep should the water be. I now have it so it is about 9 inches deep with several high ereas so they can haul out and bask in different ereas of the tank.

I have three red eared sliders in a 125 gallon tank set up with 3 fluval 403 canister filters and I change the water aevery three days. But I have been noticing that my turtles are getting a slime coat on there shells. What can be causing this slime coat even though I take very good care of the tank and I make sure I change the water every couple of days.

I have an oranged winged amazon parrot who has good and bad days. I rescued him from a house just over a year ago where he was kept in a small cage in a room on his own with no interaction from anyone. Once I got him home I purchased him a larger cage more suitable for a parrot. Which he seemed to appreciate as he could spread his wings properly. He is obsessed with the telly and prefers human food to his own.But he wont let us handle him or touch him and when you go near him he goes to bite you. On several occassions he has drawn blood. He is also very distructive - toys in his cage, wall paper, picture frames - anything he can get his beak near.
He has moments where he does nothing but screech and boy can he screech. He is a real character though making crying sounds when covered up at night.
I just want to know if anyone has any suggestions how to work with him or if another parrot to keep him company is an option??

When the purpose of being in this category is to help owners with thier cat problems? Just because I hate cats doesnt mean I shouldnt be here. some people r just rude. I have to make this clear that I had two cats before and sometimes i do voice out a little opinion on cats.

I have had a brilliant hamster called Coco who, sadly ran away from his cage in my friends shed. I use to love putting him in his ball and whenever I called Coco, belive it or not, he came to me. he wasn't tamed and was a real runner. He squeezed through a gap in one of those stupid plastic cages with tubes. Now I know that wasn't the right choice but I didn't want one like that because my mum picked it. But before I use to lay food out in the shed and it would disappear and I would see his poo in every corner of the shed. Now he doesn't eat it & I know he has run out. And my friend has a hamster called hammy who is a boy and he is getting old now and struggles to walk around and looks like he needs a walking stick. No offense. and when he passes away, we're share a hamster and it will be ours but will stay at their place. Any advice on it? Both hamster, Coco and Hammy are syrian hamsters and we're thinking of getting a girl syrian hamster. Any tips on how to stop her from running away

I am a complete dog lover and because I cant have a dog I live with visiting other people dogs and stuff and they always thank me for my job; Theres a dog called chelsea who looks like a doberman or pinscher and I trained her to stay and to jump up on the bed and so she doesn't jump on the bed for no reason and they thanked me for it and theres this black and white spaniel called Roxxie who loves me so much that whenever she sees me she rolls over. That happens to every dog including Chelsea! Whenever I stroke a dog at like a dog show or something, they always roll over the next time I stroke them. Why do I have a funny efect on these dogs?

“ingredient splitting" is where the manufacturers split up the grain fractions or the by-product fractions so that they can be listed lower on the ingredient list, but when all of the grain or by-product sources are added together, they total more than the muscle meat that is listed first.

For example:
Chicken Meal, Ground Brown Rice, Ground White Rice, Sunflower Oil, Natural Flavors, Taurine, Flaxseed, Vitamins/Minerals.

Here Chicken is listed first, but there are two types of rice – hence more grains than meat?

Another Example:
Potatoes, Duck, Duck Meal, Canola Oil, Potato Fiber, Salmon Oil, Flaxseed Oil, Rosemary Extract, Natural Flavor, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Vitamins

It has duck and duck meal – hence more protein even though potatoes is the first ingredient?

Is ingredient splitting real or is it a myth since pet food makers are required to carefully label their products according to stringent government regulations?
