My Siamese cat which is about 3 or 4 years old does not bite anyone in my family accept my sister. I was thinking that it may because that she is a female that is encroaching on the cat's territory. But is there a reason for this?

I have a red eared turtle about 2 months old that I recently recieved from it's first owner.

(1.) How do you tell that the turtle is breathing?

(2.) It jerks every so often while on the basking rock(head goes up and down while front legs look as if is trying to push it self upwards), is that normal? What does it mean?

(3.)How do you treat swollen eyes?

(4.) How close should he be to the heat lamp?

Any suggestions on how to care for my new turtle would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You!

okay so my dog is 3. is it okay to smack him on the butt when he is doing something that he KNOWS darn well that he is not supposed to be doing? i don't hit him hard--i love my dog. but is this considered animal abuse?
i have 7 pets, and i love them all to pieces and they seem to be happy. they are well fed, i play with them, cuddle them, and keep them clean.
so is what i'm doing considered wrong?

He will not be going outside and never tries to get out. Is there any other reason he would need to wear a collar?

he is 3 years old. i always remove him immediately from my leg or whatever part of my body he is obsessing over, and i ignore him for a few minutes. but he doesn't seem to get the hint!!! i am his favorite person in the family, and he only does this with me. he is neutered, and that has helped some, but whenever he gets excited or nervous, he frantically humps me! and, uh, one time i went to show my mom something on my leg so i rolled my pant leg up to my thigh and my dog just ran as fast as he could, he was actually tripping over his feet, and he latched himself onto my leg. how gross is that? lol
what can i do????
i refuse to hit my dog (i mean, occasionaly i smack him on the butt when i catch him doing something that he KNOWS darn well that he isn't supposed to be doing, but i don't do it hard. AT ALL. i love my doggie :-).) so what can i do?
please help!

I'm a college student and my female rottie was recently diagnosed with addison's disease. I brought her into the vet becuase she was acting extremely lathargic, not eating, vomitting, etc. 4 days and $1400 later I had her home. My parents helped me out a great deal, but the monthly cost to treat her is over $200 a month for the rest of her life. Roughly $2400 a year. I can't stand the thought of "giving her away" (I'm her second home as it is - I've had her for a year) and "putting her down" makes makes me want to cry. I can't afford the treatments, my parents have already done more then they should have, and if she goes off the monthly injection of Percorten-V ($180 a month) she will die a very slow and cruel death. I've already looked online for the drug, but I can't find it any lower then $130. Can anybody give me any suggestions? I really don't want to put her to sleep, but I can't let her suffer either... Please help.

I have two cats and one kitten. none of my other cats get along with my kitten becuz she always aggrivates them. my one cat likes it ouside so thats where she stays except she comes n every night. she hisses and growls at my kitten becuz she is jealous and isnt used to her. i know y she doesnt like her and i know y my other cat doesnt like her but y does my kitten like to aggrivate SOOOOOOO much? i know shes a kitten and likes to play but........ help me

he just starts attacking the blankets and pawing at them and grunting and it honestly looks like he is having a seizure lol. coz he just like jerks around then all of a sudden he collappses and falls asleep! what is up with that? is there something wrong with him? lol
does anyone know why he does this?
it cracks me up, but i just wanna know why he does it.

I have 2 kittens taht are about 3 and a half months old. I have to move because i have benn offerd a GREAT job and i can not take them.
I have found them a great home and they are going to stay together.
I have soo much guilt for leaving them and i can't stop crying. I need to know that cats will move on and will be ok. It would be great to know that they don't care where they are as long as they are together and happy. but i can't just make this up if it's not true.

please help me by telling me if they will be ok?

when i was pregnent i use to tell my chihuahua that this was our baby meaning hers and mineWell my chihuahua who is now 11mo.and now i have my newborn of 2 mos. the thing is my Chihuahua farah wants to be right beside my daughter Addison. When my daughter gets upset my chahuahua barks and runs to me... She acts like the baby is hers in a since . I don't mind it so much ; Farah is gentle with the baby. But i didn't expect her to act so odd. .why dose she act this way and will it change?

Ok. On the question can this be done. my sister hacked into my account. i was letting her email her friend because she couldn't remember her email. she's like 10. I own 2 dogs, a cat, and I am about to move onto a 6 acre. piece of land in a 2000 sq. ft house. I don't need to get "money" to buy a "dog" and i don't need the dog to get money from a dog show. Especially to buy a house. I am almost 14 why would I be paying to get a house. So don't think that I am irresponsible please. I have owned dogs all my life and have raised and trained them well.


I have already been accepted to go and work at a wildlife institute aswell as all the local animal shelters so i don't need a job, and I don't need money. i am soon going to be getting a wolf pup and have to help pay for that though. but i am not asking anyone to give me money. i will babysit and stuff to pay it off. So please don't think I m irresponsible. unless of course you mean about letting my little sis use the pc! lol

I have a 37 gallon tank with 11 cichlids and 1 pleco. I have recently lost 4 cichlids and the pleco, so I took the water to the fish store to be tested, and they told me the ph was too low, it was 6.6 and it should be around 7.6 at least for african cichlids. It also started growing a really bright green algae really quickly after the last water change. I don't know why the ph has dropped, I've been using the same tap water that I always have. How can I bring the ph back up naturally with out using chemical buffers?

I live on a small farm. It is nice to have a few cats for the barn. 2 of my cats stay off of the cars, and I have never had any problems with them. My sister-in-laws Aunt gave me a cat because she could not keep her anymore. Ever since I have cat tracks all over my car.. I can't stand it any more.
