I was wondering why do people enjoyed hunting big game animals such as elephants, lions, cheetah, wolves, rhinos, hippos, leopards any African animals including those that are endanger. Are people just killing them because it for fun? Hunting animals for food is fine. But I notice big game magazine in store, it break my heart to see elephants, leopards, lions etc to be killed for hunting especially those beautiful wild cats. I thought we were suppose to be saving wild animals.

Nobody hunts endangered animals. If someone kills one that is called poaching and it is against the law. As far as reasons to hunt go, it's the same as why someone climbs a mountain, runs a marathon, or sky dives. Thrills, a sense of accomplishment, etc. You may find it morally wrong but it's still legal and if you support freedom, diversity, and tolerance you should accept it.

It has been a long time since I read an article on big game hunting. It was a sport enjoyed by a lot of people, including some very famous Presidents.
Humans have been hunters since the beginning of time and some have to continue to hunt to satisfy inner cravings. I like to hunt, but I will not shoot anything unless I intend to eat it.
A lot of animals that were once endangered are no longer on that list and hunters are allowed to take them to keep herds at a manageable level.
The last article I read about hunting elephants in Africa, the animals were given to local villagers for meat, so nothing was wasted.
I believe in order to show big game hunting in a more favorable light the articles should tell what was done with the carcass, not just where the hunter hung his trophy.

This is a very bad habbit that people have developed for 5 6 senturies. We are tempted from the grase and beauty of the wild animals and we want to get close to them. But as you know people are selfish creatures and they care only about their needs. Thats why animals like elephants, chitahs and lions are a general target to hunters. This is very bad and people must try to purge this habbit from their lives. I hope that you don't kill these precious animals and if you do i adwise you to stop.

Hunting wolves for good is kind of icky because, well let's face it; why would anyone want to eat dog? And I think the moose should also be mentioned on this list because there are so many people where I live that kill moose and just leave them there to rot and waste away. I even woke up one morning to one of my stupid neighbors leaving a dead wolf on my porch with his eyes gouged out, his guts hanging out of his belly, and his throat slit. He was obviously abused when he died. And don't get me started on big cats and deer.
Killing animals for fun is wrong and it's one of the reasons why I never got to see a living dusky seaside sparrow. Hunters just keep getting greedier and greedier.

People have, for centuries, enjoyed killing creatures that they deem less intelligent and inferior. I believe this to be a trait of an abnormal personality more than anything else.

In the end, these ignorant people's pathetic little lives are justified as being worthwhile simply because they stalked and subdued a creature with 1/200th of their own intelligence. ....Do you see the irony?

If you have a very small penis you need to shoot things like lions and tigers. Hunting things like deer for food are a different story. The guys that hang meet on a pole and shine lions to shoot them should go in the woods with me, I will be the only one leaving.

We have been hunting for a long long time.
its a basic instinct to hunt like a cat.
it is a thrill and adrenalin rush.
Its not stupid, Impractical yes.
If we have a big disaster and civilization goes into the dumpster the hunters will survive.

I like to hunt stumps clays and people.
but only if the people are hunting back.

i dont know either, my cousin's new husband is a big hunter, and before he came along she loved animals now hes got her and even her kids hunting rabbits, deer, basically any kind of defensless animal, if it was for food that would be fine but its not like we all dont live a block away from a grocery store
its sad but the only place animals seem safe now is in zoos (and if i were a big cat id hate being in a zoo) :(
