She has had Deter tablets, but they don't work, and I clean it up straight away, but I don't want to go outside with her all the time.

I know you need to give rats a variety of foods to keep them healthy but I'm afraid I'll feed them something like a potato (just an example) and find out it is poisionouse to them.

Someone has been mutilating dogs and dumping them in a clearing near my home.
They have been gutted, skinned, and their legs have been torn off. We have found at least twelve dogs that have been done this way. I am an animal lover and acts of cruelty of this degree horrified me! I don't know why anyone would do such a thing to innocent animals.

I have seen alot of questions regarding snakes and their health. Please keep in mind that snakes are delicate creatures and they should be handled and cared for in such a manner.
They need food, water, photoperiods, and care. They are not for being macho, or for experments. Do not get a snake until you have been throughly educated by a proffessional, and only get what is right for you. No Venomous snakes and nothing larger than you can safely handle. Think: do you want a 14 year old with a 6ft Eastern Diamondback as his first snake? Or a 22ft anaconda? Start small and as you learn, look at other snakes. Never take your snake into public. Most folks are scared of them and this can cause serious outcomes for you and your beloved pet.
A snake is a life. It is a living, breathing, thinking animal with a sense of pain, excitement, fear, reaction, and contentment.
Please treat them with respect and don't neglect its health or physical condition.
Use your head and common sense, folks.

This dog howls and yaps as early as 4.30am. This is far too early. I emailed my local envirnonmental health office and as I want to remain anonymous (I'm a single lady), I was told that there's nothing they could do, but that they'd tell the dog owner my problem. Nothing has improved and environmental health said and I quote, "your neighbour can't understand what the problem is". I then sent an angry email to my local MP (again, without revealing my identity) and they emailed back saying, "You have to give us your name and address, as we can't do a thing". Is this right?

A fist of dogdirt at the core of the cat’s being, residing in the depth of its stomach, implanted when the cat was sleeping. But now the cat has awoken and the stench is filling its nostrils: it knows what I’ve done, as I sheepishly glance. Its sphincter contracts and opens, its tail erects and softens, it’s breathing shallows as the dogdirt exacts its terror deep, deep within the catacombs of the cat’s asssssss. The cat’s eyes roll into the back of its head as digestion of dogdirt begins, unabated...

So my question is this: if a cat eats dogdirt, when it next goes to the toilet is what comes out considered catdirt?

My female dog and female cat were raised together. Both are approximately 2 years old. The female dog is spayed, but the cat is not. Periodically--maybe once a month or two--my cat goes psycho on my dog. She hisses and attacks the dog with no provocation. It doesn't occur around food or any other animals or with any apparent reason. Truly "out of the blue."

My wife and I took in a stray cat a couple of months ago. We are both VERY much dog people, but it was hurt, starved, and looking like it wouldn't make it much longer. So, the Ace Ventura in us took over and we took in this cat. Well, like I said, it had a bum back leg that it sometimes limped on. The vet said that it was probably a crack or something that happened at birth and that it had healed up and she would be fine. Before today, she wouldn't jump on anything above 2 feet tall, and that was nice. Well, we must have fed her something good because she is now able to jump onto the waist high table. This is a no no. We have a Pomeranian because they can't jump onto tables. We aren't going to have cats up there now either. What can I do? I have heard of the coin-in-a-can thing but I want something more reliable because I won't be able to sit there with a can in my hand all day waiting for her to jump. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Have you ever had a fish inexplicably die on you?

My Homerwood passed on tonight, and is now swimming in the great sea. He's been somewhat...well, blah the last two weeks. He was lethargic and hanging out at the bottom of the tank, yet he still chased the silver dollars when they encroached his side of the tank. He ate - when he wanted to. He had no signs of disease (no growths, discolorations, etc.), was still brightly colored, fins weren't clamped. He just wasn't acting right.

So as a precaution we moved him into the quarantine tank three nights ago. Noticed he was swimming a little oddly at one point, and noticed he hadn't had a bowel movement. He'd already been fasting at that point, so we tried to feed him peas. He refused to eat. Thinking he was having swimbladder problems due to constipation, we added Epsom salts to help make him poop. Added one teaspoon last night, another half tonight to 10 gallons of water.

Woke up from my nap, and he had passed on.

I had a tabby cat and later got rottweiler puppy. They got along together okay, but a couple years later, Trixie the cat died. anyway I tried bringing home another cat and they were good good at first but one day when no one was home Max killed the new cat.
I got another cat and told him not to kill it but he did anyway a week later. So I thought if I got another tabby cat like the first one that Max didn't kill that it would be okay. Well I came home today and found Max had killed the cat again. What can I do to make my dog get along with my next cat?
