If the statistics are correct, cats are way more popular than rabbits as companions in the UK - 6 million households keep 9.2 million cats, compared with 2.5 million households keeping 6 millions mammals (which includes rabbits, but also mice, guinea pigs etc).

"What is better" must be question of personal choice - I've always had cats and think they are the best companions ever (can't imagine a rabbit sitting on my knee purring) but I guess rabbit owners probably think the same!

Dear Cabbit Confused, I personally believe a cat to be more popular. I know they have severe personality traits but so do we humans. And I really dont even like cats because they are just to darn sneaky. But all that aside. The reason I say cats is it just stands to reason that rabbits have to many natural enemies. I know the cats will win. After all, I never seen the painting of a rabbit on exhibit as artifacts in the Pyramids. Good Luck you two. PZB.

I see rabbits as pets but cats more as companions, as they are smarter and just seem to have more character. So I vote cat.

Of course, I think dogs are better than both of them.

Cats. I've had both and cats are less maintenance. By nature they sleep during the day, and hunt at night. So, technically while we are sleeping our cats are hunting lizards, roaches, and any other creatures that may sneak in our houses. And while we are at work or school, they're usually lazing around and periodically nibbling at their food. All we have to do is make sure they are fed, and their litter box is scooped out. They love a clean litter box.

Cats are better for companionship and rabbits are easier to take care of. I like them both the same.

Personally, I prefer a cat to a rabbit. I can see the advantages of a rabbit but I like cats more - no real reason, just prefer them.

cats are more popular but i really don't like them...most of them have a snobby attitude...rabbits are cuter, some chew stuff but if you keep em under control and give them love they can be very sweet..im not sure if cats have this problem, never really had one but the bad thing about rabbits is if youre not watching them carefully theyll kill their babies..

Better - cats
More popular - cats.

More households own cats than rabbits so thats proof.
Who won the arguement?!
