best solution is to put a muzzle on max when you leave home...this might give max a hint and eventually he might get the point

My dog hates small animals, especially cats as well. He's a shepherd mix. What I did, cats are nocturnal, so during the day the dog had the run of the house, cats were in a bedroom. Night dog went into cage and cats got the run of the house. Either figure out some arrangement like that, or don't get anymore cats. I would suggest no more cats. And also be mindful of your dog not liking smaller animals when you go to the vet and such.

Please, please do the cats a huge favour by not adopting any more cats!! Poor kittens! It is apparent that your dog does not tolerate cats and it is a matter of time before he kills your next cat (which i hope you do not adopt)
Yes,maybe your dog does not mind the cat in the short run,but rottweliers are known for their predatory nature and it could be anyday that he suddenly like to have a "game" with your cat, killing it in the process.
If you must get another cat, i think you have to confine it in an area whereby your dog have no access to. My grandmother used to have the same problem (3 cats killed) and she confined the new cats in an area in the kitchen.

The only thing to do is to not bring any more cats home or they will be killed. We had the same thing happen when we had min pins. One of the min pins hated cats. We had got 2 kittens and she killed both of them. No more cats for us. Decide which you want the most, your dog, or cats.

You can't. Apparently your dog cannot get along with cats. GET IT! That is OK if you quit bringing home cats. My dogs do get along with my cats, because they are good dogs and know what I want. They bark at other cats in the neighborhood, but not mine. It is all in your communication with your animals that make the difference.

Wow, it seems apparent to me that your dog cannot coexist in the same home as cats. My suggestion, don't get anymore cats!!! Willingly bringing a cat into that situation constitutes animal cruelty and is subject to prosecution!

Rottweilers are not the lap dogs which people may like. Sometimes they even harm or hurt children. (but that's only some of them) reward max when he's not hurting the kitty and punish him when he does, but don't let the cat out of ur sight!

Some dogs just won't get along with cats. Rotties have a tremendous small prey drive. You're not going to have any living cats. Dogs are better than cats anyway, I would simply enjoy his company.

My advice to you is to STOP getting cats !!! Eventually it will be animal cruelty if you keep letting your cats get eaten by your dog !!

My friend keeps her cat in her bedroom, where the dog isn't allowed to enter.. big bedroom, with bath connected, and the cat seems content..
If you just have to have a cat, then get one you can keep in another room..
