Depends on the breed and age of the dog. Some like sheep dogs and terriers can go on for ever when they are young and fit. Some dogs like spaniels love places where they can go thorough undergrowth and get into rivers. Walking dogs on leads is a sad way to have to exercise your pet, but of course many people have no choice. I know from my experience with dogs that some of them find certain walks boring, and they all like to find the scents of other dogs to investigate.
It's not always quantity over quality that counts. I'd always walk my dogs three times a day and for for dogs the longest one would be an hour or two. it all gets slower as they get older. Some dogs just love chasing stuff in a park until they are knackered. They are just like people with different needs. Dogs are ace.

I live in an apt. with 3 dogs (2 Shih-tzus and a older labX) they get 3 or 4 walks a day - generally about 20 min in the morning and two 15 - 20 min walks in the afternoon and a short little 10 - 15 min. walk before bed. Sometimes we will do one 45 min walk in the afternoon if the weather is nice.

i'm a puppy human being. So it relies upon on your dogs. length, age, capacity aspect etc. I have a 8 year old more effective dogs. So I walk him 40 minutes two times an afternoon. A small dogs about quarter-hour two times an afternoon. daily will be more effective perfect. yet 5 days per week is nice besides. do not over do it. in case your dogs is older once an afternoon or 2 short walks is more effective perfect.

It depends on the breed of the dog. Some dogs naturally have more energy than others. No matter what the breed you should find a place that it can run around for a whle. Take up activities like fetching a ball or a toy. Read up on your breed of dog and then you can make plans for you and your dog.

10 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening and I always carry bags to gather any of my dog's droppings along the way to take home and flush down the toilet (without the bag, which gets thrown away).

We have several dogs and a completely fenced in yard, so ours do not get walked. They have a lot of fun running around our yard. We have a doggy door so they go in and out as they please.
