I had a tabby cat and later got rottweiler puppy. They got along together okay, but a couple years later, Trixie the cat died. anyway I tried bringing home another cat and they were good good at first but one day when no one was home Max killed the new cat.
I got another cat and told him not to kill it but he did anyway a week later. So I thought if I got another tabby cat like the first one that Max didn't kill that it would be okay. Well I came home today and found Max had killed the cat again. What can I do to make my dog get along with my next cat?

how about you either stop buying new cats, or get rid of the dog...

Maybe you have to put the dog outside and don t let the cat outside at all? sense the dog keeps killing your cat don t buy another cat you wasting your money why do you get rid of the dog because it could also be dangerous around people espacially a child if a child or person gets injure they will sue you and might be a lot of money so i think that dog may not be a good pet i think you should get rid of it or keeps it away from your cat and people. If a dog kiils ya cat it might also hurt people so think about it. The dog might to the same to a child if a child plays with it the same way as the cat or if the child play rough with it. It might not kill the child but the child could be very injure or hurt.

I'm afraid it would be cruel of you to get another cat. This dog is not going to stop killing cats. Muzzling the dog while you are away will keep the dog from being able to grab the cat in his mouth, but a Rottie has some powerful paws and could kill a cat with a good strike from his paw. As long as you have that dog, no more cats. Sorry.

Honestly and bluntly, stop getting cats.

Its quite obvious that Max doesn't like them. He may "tolerate" them in the beginning, but apparently that toleration has a boiling point. It could be a territorial issue with Max, it could be a simple dislike. If you seriously want to curb this problem, because it IS a problem, seek advice. There are many different people you can inquire with like a dog trainer, your vet but preferably, I'd recommend an animal behavioralist. Someone who understands a dog from the dog's point of view, ya know? Granted, it'll cost you but at this point of replacing 4 cats? The cost should be the least of your worries.

Anywho's, unless you can provide any future cat a safe haven far from Max, I wouldn't recommend you bringing another home. Seriously.

U have to be careful with that dog make sure it don t hurt people do. u could also be charged with animal cruelty you probably go to jail for a year. Make sure it not around a child don t leave a child with that dog because it could be dangerous just like that dog with that cat. Listen it either the cat or the dog you pick you can t make that dog get along with that cat is very hard. If you going to buy another cat get rid of that dog first. buying another cat and then your dog kill it it going to lead you more animal cruelty charges and you going to be very stupid.

Stop getting any more cats. Unless you want Max to kill another cat, you should simpliy just not get another one. If you are going to get one then just make sure you never leave the both of them alone together, or risk another cat's life. As much as we like to think cats got nine lives, all dogs don't get along with cats.

What is wrong with you ??
The problem here isn't that your dog is being a dog---
it is with you feeding the damn thing cats !!!
The reason the dog accepted the first one--is that the cat was part of the deal... the set , arranged setting that he was brought into--- now-- all this other stuff is YOU putting cats into a different situation--one in which He is the master--he will not be accepting another cat ---stop this insanity now and accept that it will not change !!!

I am assuming your question is not for real
That's just too sick...Get the dog some expert help
once they kill you have a very serious problem
It must be addressed right away
never leave animals alone that you are unsure
about whether they are safe together
ESPECIALLY a dog and a kitten
What the hell were you thinking.????????????

You'll have to keep them separate. They won't be able to get along - simple "playing" from the dog's perspective is taking the life of the poor fragile kittens.
I don't advise getting any more cats while you still have that killer dog. It would be cruel.
