My Kitten is just now 6 weeks old and I wondered at what age I can start getting him used to a bath. Also, can you clip a cat's nails like you would a dog, and if so, when should I start clipping them and how often?

We have a 5 month old black lab... we've had her for 4 months. She's crate trained and knows quite a few commands. We bought her a new (bigger) crate cause she's getting bigger. Well, the first week she was fine... but the last two nights she's started whimpering and whining about 30 minutes after we put her in the crate at bedtime. And she starts again really early in the morning. She didn't do this before, and she's been taken out to 'go', so there's no real reason for it. What's the best way to deal with this? All the puppy training videos/books say to ignore the whining or you'll just teach them that they get what they want by misbehaving. But we can't sleep! Help!

I have a border collie she is very active and I need to find a petdaycare where she can stay during the day while I am working.
I found one, that offers to give her massage twice per week, 1 hour of walking, a training session per week if I want more than one per week they will charge extra money, they have plenty of space, playground, a plastic pool, they do nail trim every monday if the dogs need it, the owner has a veterinary background, seems that is very professional all the things they are offering. They charge $35 cad dollars?

How come dogs such as pit bulls and rottweilers get such a bad rep? I know that they get alot of attention from the media about those dog maulings, but dont they know that other dogs such as Akita's, Poodles, Cocker's, Boxers, Great Danes, and Wofle Hybrids, are more likely to bite someone then pits or rotts. When ever i walk my two rott's around people are soo scared they might bite them and such, I guess people need to be educated that all dogs can bute not just Pit bulls and Rottweilers.

I have beta fish and have had him for 5 yrs. To be honest...I usually only clean him once every couple of weeks....I only feed him every couple of days, and I use tap water that I let sit for a few hours (with a drop of Chlorin-Out). Obviously, my care of him has kept him happy this long! :) BUT...lately he his at the bottom alot, doesnt come swimming over when he sees me coming anymore, and I know this sounds weird...but his eyes look bulgy and sick. He is still eating some....but not racing to the top for it like usual. Is he just getting old? And if you dont think that's the case....any other suggestions? Can't wait to hear some answers! Thanks!

I have been out of my old apartment about a week and my landlord told me that there has been a cat coming around the house. Well yesterday I went to look for one of my sister's outside cats and the one my landlord had been talking about ran right up to me. She is very friendly so I don't think she is feral. She also has a collar but no tag and I don't see any fleas on her. But she is super skinny and when I gave her some food she didn't stop eating. So we took her home & I posted a found ad in the paper and on petfinder.com. I would like to keep her. Is there anything else I should do or have I done my part? We have an appointment at the vet this afternoon for a check-up and her microchip scanning. I had even asked neighbors if they knew anything about her. The neighborhood I was in (old neighborhood gone bad) is kind of run down and there are always strays around. I think she's better off with me, but I don't want to feel like I'm "taking" her. She's content so far.

My Miniature Pinscher had her 5 puppies, and from the last litter we kept one of her puppies. Now that momma had her puppies she has no time for Missy(the one we kept from the last litter. Missy is so sad cause momma won't play with her. She won't eat, and she has not even had a bowel movement since momma had the puppies. She is licking herself raw on one of her legs. Momma lets her sniff the puppies but that is it. What can I do for Missy to help her over the next 8 weeks to be happy?

My cat will stick his head into an empty coffee cup and lick the bottom. I once had tea instead and he quickly removed his head from the cup. Does anyone else's cat love coffee. Since it is only licking a virtually empty cup I don't think I have to worry about any ill effects.
