That means that you have a Coffee-Cat.
I had one years ago, and no his taste for coffee never had any negative effects on his physical health.
They are rare though.

I don't think it's dangerous for them, but it's not good for them to have. My cat does the same thing with gum, chewed a hole through my pocket just to get to it. But as far as I know, cat's can't even taste sweet things... or I might be thinking of salt? But I'm pretty sure coffee is safe, as in it won't hurt him, but it's not good for them to have it. It's probably just something he loves, my old cat used to roll around in cat nip like a moron. It was hilarious.

Coffee is addictive even to animals. The caffiene is very very bad for them - could kill them. So, please, don't allow your cat to lick your coffee cup. Better safe than sorry.
I had a friend whose chihuahua liked to lick from his coffee cup. One day, I guess becuase of the caffiene build-up, the poor dog had a seizure and nearly died - luckily the vet was just around the corner and that was probably what saved the poor thing.

To be honest for both of your health i wouldn't let the cat do it!
Firstly coffee is not in a cats natural diet there fore it doesn't need it and secondly i wouldn't fancy drinking out of any cup that a cat had been drinking out of after licking its **** for hours on end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, my cats have never bothered my coffee, I use powdered non dairy creamer in it too. I did once catch my male cat drinking my chocolate milk though! I scolded him, telling him chocolate is bad for him! LOL!

If you put creamer in it he is most likely going after that. Be careful caffeine is bad for kittens and cats.
