I want to get a dog so I would like to know what would be a good dog

I know dogs can do tricks but i heard cats are too smart to do tricks.

About a week ago my cat Alden went missing in our yard. Our house is about 30 acres but other houses from our front door about 1/2-1 acre away. We often would see him at the beginning of the driveway or across the street. I don't think he has a good grasp of the area...he is one year old and was a house cat for the first half of his life and has been wandering outdoors for 3-5 months. He is a domestic short hair. His sister is a lynx point syamese (exuse my spelling please) who is very social. She has been crying ever since he hasn't returned home. We are doubtful that he ever will. We live in Massachusettes and cyotes have been known to be in our area. Today we were on the cat adoption site and saw two beautiful siames kittens (one male and one female). Would our present cat be open to these new cats? Would she accept them or only be confused more? Would it help her move on? Please give me your input...thanks.

I recently fostered a litter of 11 for my local animal shelter. They had kennel cough when I picked them up but it cleared up with antibiotics within a week. A few days later, they started to die suddenly. This was a mixed litter ranging from 2 weeks to 5 weeks old. After the 4th puppy died I returned the remaining pups to the shelter for testing where they told me the pups had Toxemia and even though I had rid them of most of their fleas in the week they were here, they also had flea anemia--something about the Toxemia weakend their ability to make blood cells lost from the fleas. She told me to wash everything in the house with a 1:30 bleach every day for a week and also bleach my ground to get rid of the Toxemia. I've been looking for information about this but can't find anything. I want to know what is it, what caused it, how long does it take to show symptoms (did they come with this or get it here?) Is it like Parvo, even with bleach will it stay around for 6 months?

My little calico kitty just killed a frog, brought it up to the porch, and ate half its body!

I had a cat before, he died back in February of cancer just 3 months short of turning 12. I found a kitten in my garage last week, same color as my cat who died. I told myself no more cats, but this one is so cute and so sweet that he kinda grew on me. I am temporarily living with my parents who I have told of this kitten. They have seen it and agree that he is a cute one but they don't want him in the house. My mother agreed the cat can spend the day in the house but supervised and he has to go back out tonight. It's going to be 20 degrees tonight, I can't let him freeze, how can I get him into a shelter where they won't kill him? I've realized that I can't keep him but I love him already and don't want to him to be harmed or killed at the pound.

What do I do?
