I have been trying to teach my dog to play fetch. He seems to have most of the concept down until it comes to letting go of the toy to allow me to throw it again. He does a kind of growl and lunches for the toy (in this case a kong double ended tennis ball thingy) and has nipped me a few times when we are both reaching for it at the same time.

I have tried "leave it" which he does but as soon as i say "ok" he is reaching and growling again.

He seems to love fetch...but as soon as he does that behavior i stop playing with him

My neighbor's cat has been hanging around outside our house lately. He was eating bugs so I figured my neighbors weren't feeding him, so I did. At first all I had around the house was some cooked pork (I had made a roast and pulled some off and gave it to him). I also gave him a dish with a little milk in the bottom (all I had in the fridge was vitamin D milk). The next day he was back and was still eating bugs so I fed him again thinking he was hungry. I gave him a couple pieces of chicken lunch meat and again, vitaming D milk (lunch meat and milk was all I had on hand still). Finally on the third day I happened to be at walmart so I picked up a few cans of cat food and when I got home I gave him one (it was some sort of chicken liver and chicken hearts mix or something or other). A couple days ago when I was outside playing with him he went over into the mulch and dug a hole and pooped. It was runny and dark yellow. What's wrong? Was it something I gave him or was he sick before?

I have 2 very sweet cats who are strictly indoors. my don't go outside because they don't want to. they're scared to death to even look outdoors. I believe that NO cat should be roaming outside unsupervised (or not on leash). that's just asking for the poor thing to get hurt or even killed!!! cats CAN NOT take care of themselves so therefore should NOT be left outside by themselves! people who think this are SO misinformed! it's just plain ignorance to let your feline roam out unattended!!! they truly don't realize the multiple dangers out there!! who agrees with my post? Thanks!

I know that it shouldn't be pale, but "pale" is pretty vague and I'm not sure what people really mean when they say that. My dogs gums are a light pink. Is that bad?

I have a 6 month old Weimaraner. Recently, he has broke out in red bumps on his skin, his skin is flaky and dry, and he has had some hair loss, nothing too extreme, but it's noticeable. I use a good dog shampoo on him and feed him a good dog food. I have heard they have very sensitive skin and are apt to have allergic reactions to almost anything, such as carpet cleaner, dog food with veggies in it, or a cleaner that is used to clean his pen, etc. He doesn't act like anything bothers him and he doesn't itch a lot. Can you tell me what may be wrong with him or what I would need to change??

I just got a 1 and 3 month old quarter horse yesterday, she lets me pet her and feed her but, my mom tried walking her and she almost trampled my mom. Is there anything I can do to make her more tame? I think the people who had her before me abused her, she has a few scars:(
