ok im speaking from experience get a Llama. i live in the mountains and my llama was originally bought as bait cause i would rather have a mt. lion take a $20 llama then one of my ropin horses. in the last 2 years sheila has killed 3 coyotes and 1 mt. lion. then wounded another. if you use them for protection dont shear them i was advised by the game and fish not to, cause predetors jump on the backs and all they will get is wool.

i had the same problem. how long have they been there, and killing the sheep? i have goats, chickens, dog, etc. and i have to be very cautious of them too. whenever u see a coyote that is being to daring, and looks like he's gonna kill a sheep shoot it. they will get the "hint" and leave. i recently had a pack at my house for a while but they moved on somewhere else because they cant climb over the fence cuz they r coyotes. protect the sheep better, and the coyotes will move on. hope this helped. good luck!

Well i had the same problem but not with sheep what you do is take salt water and amonia not the poisen crap mix them together and then spay at least 2-3 spray bottles worth around the perimiter keep doing this constantly every other day.ps. ammonia can be purchased at a local dollar store or wal-mart coyotes cant stand the smell they can even smell it from 0.7 miles away it'l work trust me o and try using roadkill meat instead of them eating the sheep if ths for some reason dosen't work.they'll eat a lot of roadkill meat then be full pss.spread the roadkill around the perimeter. good luck

Get a donkey.

They are natural enemies of coyotes. People with horses who live outside of the city will also have donkeys to help keep the coyotes away.

This really works. Heard it from multiple sources.

I have heard that llamas are GREAT coyote deterrets. Llamas are very territorial and are very effective at chasing coyotes away.

Here is a National Geographic article on it:

Get a great pyrennes or another breed of dog bred specifically bred to protect sheep. donkeys are sometimes good. the one we had was worthless.

They sell coyote traps. More like mouse traps. You'll catch them pretty good!!
