Get him lots of things to chew on, both hard and soft. He is teething and him gums hurt. Dampen a rag and freeze it. This will help with the pain.
Go to the pet store and get some Bitter Apple. You can spray this on the furniture. He won't like the taste and will leave the furniture alone.

We got a Manchester Terrier puppy that liked to chew on furniture legs. We coated the legs with Tobasco sauce and the chewing stopped!

Try getting him some kind of chew toy to play with. I know it worked for my Collie when he was a pup. A slight tap on the nose, with a harsh "NO" can be effective also.

Puppies chew. He will out grow that when he is about a year old. It is an instinct that you cannot control

well goldens are chewers and they will chew on things, but the thing you need to do is get him alot more toys to chew on. go to the dollar store and get a whole bunch of toys for $1.00 and give that to him. you should get him some chew bones like pig ears, raw hide bones. these things will keep him busy and keep him chewing on your furnature and other things in the house.

i breed them and they are always chewing so what i do is go to my local dollar store and get toys for $1.00 and i keep a big supply of them in my house for them. he will grow out of it but you still need to get him things for him to chew on till then. and the ones that i have as my pets grew out of it when they were about 7-8 months of age, so they will grow out of it but til they do get those toys for them. and with them being puppies, they need to chew because of their teeth, they have new ones coming in and it is like a baby they need to gnaw on something to relieve the pressure of the new teeth coming in. good luck

get him some bones or rawhides. chewers love them. second, and this might sound a little crazy, but put cinnamon around the areas you want to keep him out of and on things you dont want him chewing. it will get in his nose and he will leave it alone

We used a non-toxic product called bitter-apple. It works on any surface and doesn't stain anything we put it on. Good luck.

mine did the same thing.
Give him/her plenty of bones! Keeps them occupied for hours.
Also, always tell him/her NO when chewing on something that they are not suppose too.
good luck! :)
