I took my pug to the vet/groomer today for his first grooming service. The very SECOND I handed him over to the groomer, he started whimpering and howling, and trying to wiggle his way out of the groomer's hands back to me. I almost started crying because I could hear him crying the whole time, he probably thought I was dumping him off for good. How can I get him to not be so dependent on me for everything?! He ALWAYS has to be right next to me, and will cry if he isn't. It's cute, trust me, but eventually it will get old I think.

Ive always had this association with monkeys....I had a 2 teddies when I was a child that where monkeys......various girls have called me monkey monkey man (in a pleasent way) ...and when ever i ask this people always say, "hmmm, yes i could see you as a monkey Peter" When studying for my dissertaion I found out that this is how the indigenous people of america discovered their animal(although this may not be true, im not sure)........anyhow, whats your animal?????? Cheers Peter D aka Monkey man :))

PS how come there is a section for "Bull Fighting" but not one for "animals"....not much bull fighting in liverpool, well friday and saturday nights there are, but its not nice to call them bulls!

Hey, I have a himalayan persian kitten about 5 months old. We have a small dish for em that has a side for water and food. How often should I feed him a day? ATM we are using meow mix, but I was planning on picking up some Iam's kitten food. Thanks. I want him to be a heathy, lean cat and not fat.

i got this cute little baby goose at our local feed store this spring-now he's huge and i don't know exactly what he needs for winter. i have a farm and a large barn but he was raised in my back yard in my dog fence and has a heart atack when you lock him out. i like him back there better anyways because we have coyotes. i am serious so don't say eat him or get rid of him- i just want to know if i put up a shelter and he has water and food he'll be fine

I have a three year old male maine coon. For a little while I was having troubles feeding him and he wasn't eating but that was because he was new and I think scared, well he's loosened up since and he eats his food, but he likes to take my clothes and cover his food bowl and his litter box with them. It's not that he doesn't like the food, he eats it all and his litter is clean. Is he playing or trying to tell me something??

Thanks for the responses in advance :o)

What are the circumstances that would require boots? I've seen plenty of dogs without them and they seem to be fine.

It all happened after he went to the groomers. He always goes there and he is usually fine. But this time, he came back licking his whole body, but especially his legs...he does it ALL THE TIME. It's bad!! I'm worried about him! I don't see any irritation though. What could this be? Could it be from something the groomers did? Or is a food allergy (I recently changed his food)? I'm not sure if vet expertise is a must or not in this situation...

It is starting to get cold and a little windy now that winter is coming. I don't have a lot of experience with horses, but when should I bring the horses inside the barn to their stalls? I usually bring them out in the pasture after their morning feeding and leave them out all day. Now it is getting cold and starting to snow. Should that schedule change? What should I do? ONe horse I have, when he's outside, sees me walk into the barn, so he runs over to the door quick and wants to come in. Is he trying to tell me its too cold out or what?

My husband and I are going out of state for 9 days during Thanksgiving week.

We can’t take our dog with us because he can’t be around my sick grandma (and it will be snowing so he can’t be outside).

So we are leaving him in California at our home where the weather is nice.

I was going to pay our next door neighbor to go over to our house twice a day and feed him and walk him.

He has a doggy door so he can run around in the backyard and come inside to sleep, eat or get away from any rain.

I feel horrible leaving him without someone there to love him, but we have no family here to take him in.

I checked into kennels and they are $150 a week and he will just sit in a cage all day!!! I thought he might be less stressed in his own home even if we aren't there then in a cage with a bunch of dogs around him.

I feel like a bad parent for leaving him. He is my baby.

Do you think he will be okay for 9 days by himself?
