Using the Web as a search engine can point you to the right direction to many Macaw Breeders. Make sure once you have found a breeder check out their references make sure there are being honest with you. Macaws are very expensive and the last thing you want is to get one that is sick. I would recommend finding a local breeder instead of having a bird shipped to because if you have any questions or problems with the bird you should be able to be close to the breeder.

Appleton Exotics definitely. We got our blue and gold from there. They really are hand reared and tame and lovely. They experience a family environment and also deliver the bird to you in a van that has correct lighting for it. They have a website and are based in uk up north.

It is a little bit more expensive but it's not worth paying less for a bird that may not reallly be hand tamed. They are closed rung and come with full certification.

Good luck.

A Bird Show is a good place. You can meet several breeders at once and even choose your bird there. You will save the bird from being traumatized by shipping.

Check with your local shelter. They usually have someone that rescues feathered friends. You can go to the aviary and get to know the bird before you take it home and find out it hates you.

Good luck with your new life partner

not sure where you live. but try the gaberialfoundation they are a rescue and house hundred's of birds. they can also refer you to someone in your area and prepare you. parrots are not your average pet and some people have no idea what a pain they can be.
