No, they don't hybernate, but the DO sleep VERY VERY soundly for approximately 20 hours a day. Honestly, they sleep so soundly that you'd swear they were dead or, at the very least, shut down.

Ain't they the best though? :-)

no they do not and yes they grow a winter coat but it's not to hide them in the wild they no longer exisit in the wild except the endangered black footed ferrets ours are way to domesticated. it's like the last wild trait. go in your search engine and put in various ferret things(aka ferret info, ferret care, ferret medical) just play with it you'll find out alot i know i did. i got ferret wall paper and screen savers free too good luck from lisa &andy oh and asia, zeus and splinter (the kids)

no they do not. Some actually develope a "white winter coat" to help hide them when they are out and about during the winter!

nope, they aren't supposed to, that is if they are a pet. I'm not sure about in the wild.

i don't think so.. my friend owned a ferret and she never mentioned hibernation, and i never saw it hibernate either. so i would so no.
