When i got her she was 8 weeks old and i found out after the fact that the owner allowed all the puppies and mother go potty in the crate( how disgusting), i would come home to a foul smelling dog and crate. I have accomplished the task of teaching her that is indeed not o k to do your business in her crate, but because i always ask" gotta go potty" and take her directly outside she never really shows me any signs, i e bark, or wait at the door, i have tried to associate the leash with going potty but it just is not working, Anyone got any ideas?

Carry it's favourite toys around the house in it's mouth? Mine has a catnip pillow it takes everywhere with him, and he just took my fluffy topped pen downstairs to play with as I kept taking it off him! Just wanted to share really!!

she has had obedience training. she knows what place means, sit stay down, no come, etc. but she totally doesn't hear me when I tell her those commands when someone is over. she doesn't have to be on a leash because we have invisible fence and we do not crate her anymore. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS??????

We have had our Shitzu X Lhasa Apso for 6 years and he has always been the only dog and he seemed happy this way but my hubby and our daughter talked me into getting another dog so we went to the RSPCA (dog shelter in Australia) and bought ourselves a Shitzu X Pekanise 8 months old she is very playful and gorgeous she loves everyone but our first dog is not very impressed as she is always in his face trying to play (he is a lazy dog not into playing etc he just wants to lie around on the couch all day) so he is always snapping and growling at her - they haven fought at all but there is definately tension there on his behalf. We have only had the second dog for a few days so I know these things take time but Im wondering if they will go on like this till she gets a little older or learns to leave him alone (which I cant see as she is a delightfully playful little thing)

How have you got animals to get along in this situation?

I have a single betta fighter fish, n I keep her in a small bowl (it's not that small that she cant swim around),but do u think I should buy a bigger bowl?? or will she be fine in the small one?? Any experts around?? plz help,but only serious answers, thnx!

I have two parakeets and I see that they have laid only one egg so far (till Sep 17th). I read in other parakeet breeding sites that they lay one egg each until have a clutch of 4 to 6 etc everyday. It is two days already since the first egg I haven't seen another egg till. After the first egg itself the mommy bird is spending a lot of time inside her nest. This is her first time egg laying as well!. She comes out of her nest only occasionally.

Is this normal behaviour for first time egg layers to just lay one egg and stop laying more eggs for a while?

Will she lay more eggs later?

Do they sit on the first egg itself generally?

Moved into a house with a very shallow 12' x 5' pond (almost dries up if it doesn't rain in a week), with a liner topped by basic stone (about 1" diameter "river rock" type stuff). It does have a very basic "pump/waterfall" but thats it. What steps or process would I need to undertake to convert into something suitable for fish, turtles etc.? I would like to do this as inexpensively as possible. I live in Indiana and already have some sliders, crawdads, minnows etc. in a 125 gallon tank...

I'm a new guppy owner. And I have a pregnant guppy, seems near to giving birth, who stays near the surface in a separate tank. In fact it seems like part of the top body is exposed to air. I just noticed within the last half hour, that the scales in that area fell off and I can see her flesh. What I am wondering, is it the atmosphere that's causing the scale to fall off or a disease? The only change I see are two small fleshy round spots on the mid part of her top body, which looks like the area exposed to air. Thanks.

My boyfriend insists dogs are cleaner, although I've researched it, they're not. He lets dogs lick him all over the face, but he doesn't like to "french" kiss and doesn't like it when I suck his ears or neck or anywhere for that matter. I find it offensive and sickening. what do you think?

this morning i went to leave for work, and i as i was shutting the front door my kitten shoved his little fingers into the hinge and got them caught, he screamed like ive never heard before....i took an extra few minutes to see if he was ok and he would run after his toy and snacks ok, but he would hold his paw up high if he was sitting, it seems as if i just caught the end of this paw so i dont think there is any damage since he was still wanting to attack his toys...im just really worried and i feel HORRIBLE! i was actually in tears...thats my little baby aside from my boyfriend (hahaha)...should i take him to the vet, or give it a day or two to see how he's doing?
