I have bought a siamese fighting fish two days ago and he flares his gills at my dwarf gourmis. Is he only trying to establish himself and will eventually settle or is this worrying behaviour?

The bigger one is constantly chasing the smaller one and rubbing up alongside. Is this a sign that he is trying to mate? how do I tell?

Thank you for all your answers to my question the first time around. Let me explain. This dog is spoiled and full of love. I work from home and most all the places I go he goes with, he is virtually NEVER alone, so showing him attention is not the problem he has it 24/7, matter fact he's sitting right her in my lap at this very moment. He's not under fed by any means. I believe he's more on the jealous side as we have not only one Cavalier but TWO. His begging I'm certain stems from he "might miss out on something that the other dog is going to get and he will not." Whenever we're eating he's right at my feet. Whenever I'm cooking he's right at my feet. If I walk toward the kitchen he RUNS to beat me there and has been agressive occasionally towards the other do when treats (for good deeds or reasons) are handed out. We do NOT reward the begging by any means. So what would be your suggestions now for "jealousy" I would think it would be better defined as.

I have decided to move closer to family members, so that I have help and support with my children. In a lot of places that are available for rent they say no pets allowed.

What would you do?

I was attacked by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier a few years ago whilst out walking, which came running at me and looked set to strike. It came running out of nowhere, barking, and baring its teeth. When it was only a few feet away it crouched down as if it was going to pounce. It was only quick thinking on my part that made me jump headlong over the nearest wall rather than running that saved me from being bitten. I managed to dislocate my shoulder from the impact on the other side but at least it probably saved my life. I am now frightened when I see other stray dogs (especially staffordshires)on the street incase they attack for no reason, but I don't want to be ruled by this fear especially because I have always loved dogs before this. Is there anything I can do or carry that would help make me feel safer? Please don't suggest a stick. I probably couldn't use it on an animal and it would be useless against a dog such as a Staffordshire anyway!

I have a 30 gallon saltwater fishtank that has 5 fish, some snails, hermit crabs, and a large piece of live rock. This tank has been set up for over a year now, but I recently noticed a rather large (2"+, couldn't see the whole worm) bristle worm or 2 peeking out of my live rock. I have also noticed a few tiny bristleworms in my substrate. The fish store told me that me that my 6-line wrasse should keep the population under control, but I'm concerned now that they seem to be multiplying. What can I do?

I know this is a good sign that people are having their cats 'done' so i'm not complaining too hard. But is it better to get kittens privately or thru a cats rehoming place?

What's every one elses experiences?

Our cat is a little over 3 months old. She goes outside sometimes, and her belly looks really big, she is usually a small cat. So I was wondering if it's possible she's pregnant or is she too young? I really hope she too young lol.

I am just wondering how long after I open my cats food will it go stale or bad? My cat seems to eat the fresh food faster and more readily than after the bag has been opened a week or 2. It does have a ziploc type seal so the air stays out, but will it still go rancid? She eats the Whiskas brand.
