I rescued a kitten from the human society yesterday, however,, he was a fostered kitten and did not live in the kennel. He was playful and curious last night but today he is very lethargic and uninterested. He has been nibbling a little food ever so often and drinking. He does purr when you pet him and such b ut he is so different than last night. Now I know there is an adjustment period but this doesn't seem right. Also, he has not pooped since he's been here, coming up on 24 hours now. He even had about 1/4 can of wet kitten food this morning, still nothing. This is my first kitten and I don't know much about them. Is this normal or should I worry? He is 10 weeks old.

Ok, I keep my Cat inside during the night as there are all sorts of things out there! But seeing that she is Tokanese, she wants to get out and play during the day (or she winges all day long!). But sometimes she gets a bit too playful!

She brings in small lizards, Rats (I found it dead in my room with it in her mouth) and the most dangerous of all... snakes. As we live in Australia, we have I think 6 of the top 10 most venemous snakes in the world and 4 of those breads live are around where I live.

Is there a way that she wont bring stuff in yet I can still let her outside?

Oh yes, I do feed her enough, im filling her bowl twice a day and she comes inside to eat

Thanks

PS Is she trying to show off to the 3 of the cats next door? (she does play with the next door cats)

I recently bought my son 2 new small goldfish to keep his large 8 year old fish company and 1 of them has disappeared - the other one was dead in the corner of the tank looking rather grusome, missing a fair amount of flesh........ The small guys were about 2 inches long so too big to be an accidental mouthful! Has anybody else had this happen?

I'm thinking about adopting a retired racing greyhound from an agency. My elderly Mom and I live together (I will be walking, exercising, feeding, grooming, etc). I do work full time and my Mom will be alone with the dog for 9-10 hours a day/5 days per week. My biggest concerns are her being knocked down/tripped by a dog. Her mobility is limited/she is not too steady on her feet. We have owned dogs in the past but not for a few years (last dog died of old age four years ago). We don't want a dog that is too hyper or barky and from what I have read about greyhounds this should not be an issue. We have a large fenced yard with a 5 foot chainlink fence. I want a dog that keeps my Mom company during the day, barks if someone is at the door, and can go for walks in the evening so I have an exercise partner. I have pet birds but I plan on keeping the greyhound out of the room the birds are in and I plan to select one of the dogs the rescue calls "cat safe" for safety. Any thoughts/comments?

My dog has been crated at bed time or when no one is home for 5 years. She has recently (the past 6 to 8 months) been peeing in her crate. I thought she might have too much space so we put the divider in the crate to keep her from having a "pee section" and a "sleep section". It didn't stop so I took her to two different vets. There were no problems with the urinalysis or physical exam. The first vet gave me a medication for a urinary tract infection just in case, and she took it twice a day until it was gone. The second vet recommended a medication for incontinence and she has been taking that twice a day. Now she is peeing AND pooping in the crate. I don't know what is going on. She doesn't exhibit any signs of diabetes or anything and my other dog is in a crate right next to her and doesn't do this. I hate to do it, but today I am taking her blanket out of the crate because if she's going to keep soiling it, it will be easier to just clean the plastic cage floor. ANY advice???

I have two dogs; a very skittish golden labrador retriever/australian shepherd mix and a very regal (if I do say so myself!) German shepherd. My yellow lab mix runs from the vacuum cleaner, the blinds in the windows being rattled, and mean faces given to her. My other dog, on the other hand, seems to be afraid of nothing... except thunder.

For some reason, both my last German shepherd and my current one seem to become very nervous (and in the case of my current, even fearful to the point of shuddering and hyperventilation) before a storm and especially when it thunders.

Is this something specific to the breed or a coincidence with both of mine of the same breed acting the same? If specific to the breed, how did it come about? Is it caused by fear of the thunder itself or pressure or something else entirely?

A friends dog has a bit of a cough. Her dog started coughing around the same time that some friends of ours got a cold from camping all weekend ( the dog was on the camping trip). I have heard that you can put Vicks Vapor rub on and inside the dogs mouth and around their nose to get rid of cold like systems. Does anyone know any truth to that rumor?

Okay... this is really weird to me. When we got our rabbit she was a beautiful shade of grey with a white underbelly. Now she is getting darker on the back and has a brownish tint on her sides but still has the white belly. She is also shedding like crazy. Anyone ever had this before? What breed of rabbit could she be?

i mean its so sad to think that some people just don't care for the little animals and don't even stop their cars, but some people will just backfire my question and say, "their just animals! there so dumb! they should know better!" but they dont' know better, and thats fact, and people are dumb to think that and just let animals die. how about a car just runs over them, HUH!?!?!?!?
