Provide plenty of fresh water. Some cats like to eat crushed ice cubes. Ask your vet about giving Sub Q fluids (fluids given under the skin with a special needle and special liquid). If you want to force feed the water, make sure they don't breathe it in by accident. Don't want to give your cat pneumonia. Give them a drink of the water, give them a few seconds to breathe, then give them some more water.

My neighbor's cat is having problems with things like bladder stones (he had a very expensive surgery) & urinary tact stuff. The vet insists he MUST have at least 4 oz. of water a day & is on a special diet. I use a srynge & force it in....it takes 4 full doses (12cc) to get half of it in when he visits each day (his mommy does the rest) But he's so used to it now (resigned I'm sure...so undignified!) it's very easy. He opens up (had to force the issue at first) & he gulps as fast as I squirt! Position the cat as if you are going to pill him.
