Endorphins is a chemical that gives you a feeling of well being. I love my Lab/German Shephard, she is like our child. She listens to everything we have to say, even when you don't think she is listening. She performs with her squeeky ball, throwing it around and getting it herself. We had not had a dog for 21 yrs, so this was an experience we had forgotten about. We know now that this is what we had been missing, since we are empty nesters. Just wondered if you got the same feeling, and what kind of you had? Pets can become almost human, I think. I was amazed. I cannot be without her now. I take her in the car every evening, and she puts her head out the window and flies, her ears stick out in the air. What about you? The dog was given to us by our grandson, and could not keep her any more. She is 2 yrs old and red. She has to sleep at out feet on the bed. . She is really a loving spirit, my husband calls her our "Granddogger".

I had a jack russell, but my mom made me leave him back home. He probably would not like an apartment anyways. But, I need a dog! Any ideas?

Animals have got the rare quality to express among themselves in a sign language. For instance, if the animal does not want food just refuse to take and offer it to another. The actions done by the animals surely indicate the intention.

Many of you are aware of the genetically altered Zebra Danio that has been injected with the color genes from corals that make them glow. There is word that they are sterile, but other articles say they are not. Has anyone personally been able to breed them?

I am pretty sure that they can see in color so I would think that they can - but I was just wondering if they can tell when their tank light is on or off and which they like better... just wondering. =)

My bunny is 5 years old, and at the moment I'm trying to save up money to get her spayed because I know of the danger if you don't. Is she too old though? The vet said she isn't too old, but does anybody have an answer? I'd like a second opinion. I want her to live as long as possible, but if the spaying would hurt her then I don't want to do that. So which would be my best option, to spay or not to spay?

Today we are picking up our new Lhasa Apso. He is 2 years old, and we dont have alot of history for him. Hes suppost to be good with kids as young as 2 years old, and likes cats.

My question is how should we introduce him into our home so that he doesnt go all dominant on us? We would like him to know that I'm "Alpha" as soon as he walks in, and i'm wondering if thats possible to do?

We also have a cat, and although the dog grew up with cats I know he will test the waters, because that is his breed after all. What should I do so that they live a equal life without drama?

And final question is about the kids

We have a 7 year old and a 4 year old. From what I have read the 7 year old should have no problems. But the 4 year old will be challenged, and so what do I need to do to teach the dog that the humans are the boss in this house?

Please only experienced Lhasa Apso or other Dominant breed dog owners need apply. I need serious advice.

Thanks:)

My kitten is only 2 months old and he has had a bad eye infection and sneezing. i took him to the vet and they gave me terramycin-which never worked-just made him worse. So i took him back and turns out he has mild eye ulcers and felineherpes. So now hes on chloramphen, some antibitoitcs, lycine etc. His eyes still look horrible and im religous on his meds. Anyone have any advice for me? its so hard looking at him- it makes me so sad and i just want my little guy to feel better...please someone with advice?

I have a Cocker Spaniel and he had two seizure within two days. He had never had one before. He is 1 1/2.
I researched on the internet and I am thinking if might be epilepsy. I also took him to the vet, but our vet was terrible. He did some bloodwork and still hasn't gotten back to me.
I am wondering how people normally deal with epileptic dogs and if they suffer and what life is like for them.
Thanks!

Last month, i purchased some Advantage for my indoor cat. It got rid of just about all the fleas, but she still has some on her head. I am about to go this week and buy something else. I was wondering if Frontline is any better? She does scratch her head area, but she has no fleas elsewhere. Any help will be appreciated!

I just gave my mom a pretty large tank, and my chocolate oranda. My little sister has the goldfish who usually cost about 35 cent at the store. My mom wanted to put them together. I personally don't think that my fish will fight with it... But you can never be too sure.

Should I tell her to keep them separate?... I mean, I actually feel sorry for the fish my sister has in that small bowl of hers being so confined. But I don't want them to fight each other either.

theres this peigon in my apt. complex that is hurt, its wing is broken, it cant fly & can barely move , its been standing in the same area for over a week, i know its just a peigon not even a pet, but i dont want it to just be in pain until it dies cos it wont die until something bigger kills it most likely, so...yea idk if animal shelters would help though cos they usually help pets, like dogs & cats, does n e one know of any shelters that will care for it? im in phx az.....

There is a stray cat living in my patio. It is probably 4-6 months old. I have been feeding it and giving it fresh water. She even has a bed out there. Well a few days ago I noticed that she seems to have an eye infection in her left eye. Then yesterday I was outside spending time with her and she let out a strange cry and then fell. It was as though she collapsed, fainted or passed out. Right after she fell she let out a moan and then nothing, like she was sleeping. I went to her and pet her and gave her some food then she opened her eyes and got up and ate. It happened again tonight. It hasn't been hot at all so I don't think it's heat. What could it be? I can't get her in to seeing a Vet anytime soon. I also can't let her in because I have cats and I am afraid of spreading something to them. Any ideas or advice would help. I am so worried for her. WHAT DO I DO?
