Endorphins is a chemical that gives you a feeling of well being. I love my Lab/German Shephard, she is like our child. She listens to everything we have to say, even when you don't think she is listening. She performs with her squeeky ball, throwing it around and getting it herself. We had not had a dog for 21 yrs, so this was an experience we had forgotten about. We know now that this is what we had been missing, since we are empty nesters. Just wondered if you got the same feeling, and what kind of you had? Pets can become almost human, I think. I was amazed. I cannot be without her now. I take her in the car every evening, and she puts her head out the window and flies, her ears stick out in the air. What about you? The dog was given to us by our grandson, and could not keep her any more. She is 2 yrs old and red. She has to sleep at out feet on the bed. . She is really a loving spirit, my husband calls her our "Granddogger".

Yes, I have a border collie, she is 11 now, but she is a great companion, so loyal and so trustworthy. I have a yellow canary too, and he just loves the attention, and shows off. He also sings beautifully. His name is Charlie. Having pets around help us relax (as long as they are well behaved of course), and stroking a cat or a dog for instance, can actually help to bring down high blood pressure. I am so thankful for my pets.

sometimes when my beautiful cat BOODY wakes me in the night to hop in bed for a cuddle I get an overwhelming feeling of love from him.
He is so sweet and follows me around and speaks cat at me. I feel we have a special bond, I have had him since he was 5 weeks old and saved him from being a neglected farm cat.
It's funny you asked this question cause I was thinking along the same lines last night . It's special to have a good relation ship with your pets, It's the unconditional love thing that alot of people never take the time to experience.

Cats. I'm a cat person. In fact, I make friends with feral cats! I have a neighbor whose cat runs off and hides whenever people enter the apartment but the minute she heard my voice, she ran to the door and allowed me to pick her up (not even the owner can pick her up... she scratches and gets away). While I was trying to help her with her computer, her cat jumped up on my lap and stayed with me all the time I was in the apartment. Go figure. She's a beautiful gray cat with beautiful yellow eyes and a tail like a squirrel. Twice I've visited to help the lady with her computer and twice the cat has come to me... the lady is totally freaked out!
I don't have a cat now.
I've had three cats in my life: one gray and white tuxedoed, weighed 19 pounds, a (runt of the litter) black Persian the size of a kitten that weighed about 6/7 pounds, and my big black and white tuxedoed that weighed 37 (yes, thirty-seven pounds) but he was huge, the size of a small medium dog; his back reached my knee caps. When they died, after many, many years, I got so sick and depressed that I was almost hospitalized.
I teach them to use the toilet! I speak with them and spend time with them every day. Cats are such great, loving pets!

i have an adorable golden retriever, i got him when he was only 23days old, and since then my whole life changed, as well as my perspectives in everything. he has grown on our customs, and he is a member of the family ! he sleeps whenever we do, he eats whenever we eat, he really feels our hapiness when happy, our sadness when sad, i think i can't live without him ! i simply adore him and he is like a little brother to me. we call him the baby of the family, and questions like did he eat, did he sleep are in everyday vocabulary as if he is a real person.i cannot distinct him anymore from my family, i love him very much and the utter love-with no benefits waiting around the corner-he gives to me makes me happy a great deal. trully happy, something that i don't get in nowadays.i think people who have pets, are kind, polite and very sensitive, and you can tell a lot about someones' personality by the way he/she is treating their pets or if they dislike any kind of animals. i'm very glad i answered this terrific question and also glad to find out that there's another person feeling the same way i do. you 've made one soul happy : your pet....

My favorite pet is Juno. He is a Albino (white)Budgie. In the morning he jumps off his swing hanging above me bed, he rushes down the to the bottom of the bed makes a loud noise for my feet to come out of the covers so he can dance to and preen them. Juno is my alarm clock.
